hello, this is more for my brother who currently owns a 2001 audi rs4, but its clocked up almost 140k km and its time to move on. he saw the liberty sti from 2007 and thought it was pretty nice, and now teh 2008 is out. i have done some searching and discovered some interesting facts about it.
a few questions regarding the liberty, does it share the same engine as the current wrx and sti, ie. 2.5l engine?
also, i posted on the ozliberty site, but it seems like a ghost town. the main differences between the 07 and 08 liberty sti is the wheels (the 07 r much better imo), the exhasut tips, the 07 has all leather whereas the 08 has alcantara, and the brake calipers r different colour.
also, teh only option is the sat nav?
is there anything else i have missed
and what would be the standard stages in terms of modifications. and the estimated power gains. it seems that ecutek is the main ecu tuner.
thanks for any responses

oooooooo b6 rs4 nice

main difference between the o7 and 08
08 only one wheel colour option
sill plates...tunned by sti front and rear
engine ej25t, not the same engine as the sti wrx....... :(
same brakes just in black
alcantara seat inserts
sti cluster
sti gear knob
exhaust is the same rolled sti tips.

in terms of mods.....
ecutrek is the not the only thing going around, using a piggy back system like the haltech.
you need to upgrade the sways at the very least the rears
tops mounts a out there, hyperflow hks avo
dump pipes a good way to increase low end torque
biltz throttle controller for better throltte response.....plug and play mod
hks evc boost controller...... stock engine can run 17-18psi easily......plug and play mod............ this starting to sound like my wish list.

its actually a b5 rs4, b6 was only for the s4, the current rs4 is the b7.
senator, so in ur opinion, its best to get the 08 with the 07 rims then, this is what im trying to get my brother to do.

lol, if you can find them....... for a good price, you just missed a few sets on here. Also try contacting a memeber called phat gt for prices for wheels and any after market mod parts......... but i will warn you now, it all starts with an air filter and next thing you a selling your kidney on ebay to buy more mods.

you can also consider getting the same 08 sti wheels in charcoal..... this is what i am hoping for...... the 07 sti wheels can be a little harder to clean. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=2998

Also members here have had powder coated their wheels, check out swingin, his got the spec b wheels in a nice charcoal metallic http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=3017

Below is pretty much same for either MY07 or MY08..

Just some approximations..

Coilovers TEIN - $2,700
EcuTeK - $2,000
Exhaust (mid section & dump pipe ($800 - $1,000)) - $1,600
TMIC – $1,000 (AVO) - $1,500 (Hyperflow)
Sway bars - $460 (Whiteline)
Sway Bar Link kit - $300 (Whiteline)
Slotted rotors (front & rear) - $1,000
CAI & Pod - $300

19” Wheels - $2,000 - $3,500
Rubber - $1,600 - $2,000

Stock – approx 130kW ATW
EcuTeK – approx 155kW ATW
Exhaust, TMIC, CAI & EcuTeK – approx 180kW ATW

MY08 also has two programmable memories for drivers side electric seat..

Another option is the Auxiliary jack – ie IPod.. ($160)

Also go to http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=3111 for a pretty in-depth explanation & photos of most of the mods available for the Lib.. That is all you will need to read…

the reason i ask about the 07 rims is that they r imo, much better than the 08 rims in terms of how they look. and in charcoal, they look the biz

http://www.ozaudi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16785

here is the thread, its not up on carsales yet as my brother was giving the audi guys a crack at it.
plenty of work done and its been religiously maintained.
dynoed at c&v at about 460hp. it pulls from 2500rpm all the way thru, like a tidal wave of thrust that doesnt stop
