Havent been on for a while, Thanx Tim for reminding me and doing the whole deal via external email. Excellent Service

Plenty of win here for all the H6 boys, considering I and others paid double this price for earlier Australian manufactured mild steel versions.

Really, this price is unfuckinbelievable. Those poor little buggers o'seas must really only get peanuts for slavin away.
Actually feel a bit for them having been there recently, but its all good news for us here.

The old boy is a bit excited now Tim, cheers again.

Hi Guys - My headers should be here v shortly! For those located in Melb, can anyone recommend an exhaust shop for Y Pipe, CATS + labor? Eastern suburbs or Richmond area ideal (but I am up for a drive if there is a good recommendation). Advice on expected installation cost would be helpful too!

Cheers, pix.

hi all
I was thinking of heat wrapping these to prolong the life of my CV boots. ( just had my drivers side cv boot go)

Anyone reckon I may not need this?

or some good products out there I can spray on?

Mine have not affected the CV boots, but the hard plastic OEM steering rack boots are another matter. Buggered them pretty quickly.

I made some semi-circle shape shields from the OEM cat heat shields (these are dual skin), drilled 2 x 6mm holes on each side and my mechanic rivet welded ( that's his terminology ) them in place. For memory I made them 70mm wide and about 150mm long (enough to attach about 1/3 way up each side of headers). They have about 10-15mm clearance across the top of the headers.
Sorry I have no pictures. Did have them, but accidently deleted from my phone, doh.

I know some will say u never weld headers if u don't really have to. My exhaust guy n mechanic both said this was a bit of BS.
Anyway im happy as it has worked for me.

People have coated they're down pipes with Plasti dip which get a lot hotter then NA headers, no melting or combustion... Yet

Considering it's a rubberised product, that seems like crazy talk to me. Just googled it and it's rated up to 93 degrees C. I would think a warm set of headers could far exceed that.

Raptor can do ceramic coated headers. They're just a little more expensive than these ;-)

lol hondas don't have down pipes  !

Its on my mates s14, i asked him how the plasti dip is going on his down pipe the other day and he said fine, its been over a year since he coated them, He said now they've got a thick layer of dust stuck on the plasti dip (he lives on a dirt road) and you can't tell its even been plasti dipped!

I call it poor mans ceramic coating
