You're all missing the point here I think

AS I've said many times I don't really care what power it's making on paper. Its more of a check method plus its going back on the dyno soon so will know

Not at this stage

No more money to spend on this thing

Was only going to have a clean dyno run with some minor changes

Thanks Grant appreciate the feedback

Yeah I too cannot wait til I get it back out there

At the moment I'm waiting on a dyno run once we change plugs to something more suitable

Hopefully will also improve torque and top end

Timing and afr's are pretty conservative so might even try upping boost a little to 29psi and see what happens

So it seems my headers have been leaking since I've had them on the car (since the new motor went in 15 months ago)

I've had this suspicion for a while so when kiks mentioned the effect of his headers leak in his thread, i thought i would enlist the help of mat04 to tig up the slip joints on my headers.

Matt did his thing today and after an initial let down due to the uppipe flange developing a leak once installed, it was fixed.

Good news is I can now get 10-11psi on the Convertor (have to stall it for 5-7 seconds) and slingshot off the line with all four wheels spinning

Tune will be touched up by Matt (kido not mat04) and hopefully this fixes things for my next trip to Wsid

Massive shout out and thank you to Matt for his help today. Champion bloke and helped put a smile on my face

I have the common Avo, Kobe, PSR, Kando type EL headers in the install stash: do you recommend getting those slip joins welded?

Well they definitely leak from the slip joints. Some more than others wen they left the factory depending on your luck

The problem is when welded, they won't "flex" under heat like they're supposed to (to take up the slack in the metal expanding when hot). This results in (apparently) cracking of the welds

Depending on how they're welded they can crack at the slip join welds, or worse, at the head flanges if the twisting is strong enough and not enough slack is left in them when welded

I'm fully aware that these may crack in 3-6 months and have a plan of welding some flex joints in there if that does indeed happen

However lets see how long these last

You should bring this thing up for power cruise in Brisbane.

Just saying.

Would be the biggest nugget there man

Its not a proper street car :(

Put your foot down and wait two seconds unless you're at 3000rpm or above

Just did some logging

Second gear pull saw 5.4grams / rev load and 647g/ second of airflow

Couldn't get a clean 3rd gear pull but a rolling downshift to 3rd and wot to 5500rpm saw 5.6g/rev load and 660 something g/ sec of airflow
