Interior map lights not working :(

Well this is a strange one, hope someone has a good suggestion for me .

My two front map lights (in the middle with push buttons) don't work. Globes are fine. This happened once before and I ended up removing the whole light assembly and fiddling and they came good. I re-installed and was all good for ages. When my car came back from the bump shop (maybe a coincidence) they weren't working. I have checked the globes, removed and re-installed the assembly and everything looks fine but no worky. The rear seat belt indicator which has a seperate connector in the same assembly works perfectly.

Any suggestions? This one is really bugging me. I can't find any fuse that relates to these lights either.

Pull the battery neg and use a continuity checker on the light fitting & switches.

Failing that check the FSM for the harness and connection locations.

Also check the map light mod threads on lgt for related info.

BBB I tried searching on FSM but it won't let me. What does this mean?

Unfortunately electronics are my weakness so I am not really sure how to test continuity. I can check a blown fuse though

FSM = Factory Service Manual
Has diagnostics, and how to pics and procedures.
Opposed Forces has schematics and part numbers, link to my car in my signature, hit that and backtrack to your car if different config eg 5eat...

Thanks Ben. I looked up a article on google that talks about the mod: 'This mod makes the Map lights come on and then dim off with the dome light when the doors are opened or the car is unlocked.'

Isn't this standard functionality on an MY07 GTB? Mine certainly did this before they stopped working. What I want to know is whether this means mine has been modded or not.
