Depends on your intake pathway.
Those 90degree styles are easier to use with a the STI manifold.

Now I just need my behind bar heat exchanger installed....

I have the same plastic intake as yours, Ive made a few boxes up of the shape to see if and how they fit, I might have to look into the one you installed again

Ghetto mount till all is located properly.
Angles to block, aluminium bar to mount point.

Yeah fair enough. Good enough for now.

Any reason you chose this type over the wider ones?

I wanted to get rid of the 2 x 180 degrees turns to the airflow directly after the turbo.

Now the air only does 180 into cooler n 180 to get into the throttle body so 180 degrees less.

Also removed 30cm of intake pipe. Niiice!

Good idea. Less bends should equate better flow efficiency. Keen to hear what power output your making post tune.

What do they say:
A 90 degree bend is the equivalent of an extra meter plus of piping, lag-wise?
Less is moar.

ben I read somewhere that someone did the math on the lag time of shorter piping and it was so small its not that much of an issue like thousands of a second more and this does depend on the size of your cooler and pipes, lots of guys use massive diameter piping !! over kill! the bends do add up to a bit of restrictions though.

I will say that having shorter piping might help with the maf and tune there would be a small delay with what happens at the engine and what the maf picks up, matt might know about this and better to explain

The focus has been for less volume, less restriction n more cooling.
I believe i have got it but proof will be in the dyno result n also in ET n mph at start of whoopass wednesday season.

Really hoping you walk us through what I consider to be the more complex part of the WTA setup: the pump and heat exchanger install :)

Looking good j

I just pick a GD STI power steering reservoir, so I can tee into the line...that way I can monitor coolant levels & it will always bleed out ;)

Getting closer!!

Front bar will be sliced to fit as soon as the last silicone reducer turns up

Painted front heat exchanger black and ran all the hoses after the pics.

Just grabbing a few brass fittings tomorrow and plumbing for WTA coolant will be complete :D

Have had to remove 100 grams of my subaru to get this all to fit, but it is in!!

Starting to get excited!!
