Normally, I did it for 150 USD without shipping.
There will be no splice or cut to any factory wire at all.
The last version of my harness will be connected to the accessories plug which is behind the fuse box inside the car, the clock plug and a plug that is just behind the clock which is warped with purple tape.

Hi, there this is my first Post. The forum is great and without it, I'd be out in the cold when it comes to anything technical in regard to older model cars. I tried getting help from several Subaru dealers (Docklands didn't even bother returning several messages that I left…think I will ever consider buying from them….NO CHANCE! Subaru Aust were just as vague and provided no help either )

Anyway, just want to thank mitch_bobby for all his help with the plug n play loom. A couple weeks back I successfully fitted the Factory Satnav into my MY08 GT SpecB wagon.

Everything works as it should and the nav isn't that bad really. Very pleased with the result.

One tip though, I ended up buying some plastic trim removal tools from ebay for $20. Makes life much easier when trying to remove the fascia and other bits that need prising.

Hello Black Dragon - did you manage to figure out if there was a way to change the Japanese sat-nav to english?

I recently got a JDM MY08 Legacy 2.0 GT - and it came with a Panasonic sat-nav system. I emailed Panasonic in Japan and they said there is nothing in the menu, or no way to change the programming to English. But I still believe there might be some way to do that....?

Also - the car came with a Kenwood stereo - and the audio from the Panasonic feeds through the AUX on the Kenwood. However, I could not figure out which is the AUX input on the back of the Kenwood. Do you (or anyone else) know how the AUX is wired in to the Kenwood (GX-206)?

Thanks alot.

The only way to convert it is to swap the main board of the navi screen which is almost impossible and I couldn't get it from kenwood.
The best solution for you is to find a broken navi screen and take the main board from it.

Bumping this thread as I have a question regarding the DVD drive and it's location.

Some people have said it goes behind the drivers seat and others in the glovebox. The wiring I have looks like it'll be a bit short to reach the back of the drivers seat. But, the glovebox compartment doesn't look like it'll hold my DVD drive either as the little tissue box are sing wide enough.

Anyone else had this issue?

Yup, same!

You'll need to get yourself the inner glove compartment moulding as well out of a sat nav model.
