6MT gearbox sump

Hey All

Wondering whether there would be anywhere that it would be cheaper to find a sump for a 6mt gearbox as my drain plug is completely stripped and the only way we could change the oil was to remove the sump. With heat and plenty of persuasion that drain plug wasnt budging whoever put it back on there made damn sure it wasnt going to spill a drop

Any advice would be great

Havent yet spoken to Subaru to see whether they sell this as a separate part or not thought id try my luck here first

Carefully drill the guts of the plug out and retap the hole?
New plug of course!

I had the same problem with mine....In the end we toke the sump off also, welded a small bar to the nut, heated the nut, wd40 and undid the nut .....painful but got there in the end....

I purchased a new sump nut from subaru....didnt cost that much....in regards to the sump? no idea on the cost...another option if possible is to weld that sump drain off, and tap a new sump drain hole and nut in another location....

dont forget to use some sort of gasket sealent when putting the sump back ....cant rememeber the brand I used...

The mechanic said he tried everything bar drilling it out. He was worried about cracking the sump had it in the vice with heat and a breaker bar on it and it wouldnt budge but ill have another yarn to him and see what hes willing to try

3bond 1207c if you're feeling baller. Otherwise super sealant grey no.1 will do.
