KiDo_Tuning wrote:Big update
New Roger Clarke motor is ready to go: sleeved, O ringed, closed deck, phased crank, ARP Block bolts, 14mm studs, H Beam rods with forged slightly oversize pistons with oil cooling squirters(R35 GTR has them) and billet nitrided crank fitted with no doubt some serious engine assembly secrets ;)
On top of this there is brand new GRB EJ207 Dual AVCS heads, with deshrouded valves(yay for having a CNC lathe), beryllium valve seats+guides, optimal combustion chamber quench surface with cams that are best described as adequate for the job of an 8000rpm EJ257 ;) For the price I paid for the engine, it was ridiculously hard to turn down... it sort of spiralled out of control from there so decided to go all out

New turbo is a GTX3582R 1.06 with twin scroll ATP V Band exhaust housing with the turbo to be mounted in the wheel arch where the factory milk bottle should be via custom headers, custom dump pipe and a TIAL MVR44 external gate. V band hose clamps throughout including the throttle body which is having the plastic inlet manifold rotated to have throttle next to the alternator. ID1300's with fuel pressure set at 60psi for better atomisation and a Magnafuel fuel pump, 5L surge tank with a DW65c acting as Surge tank fill pump(does 385L/Hr since it has no pressure) will keep the good 'Sugar Sniff' from the exhaust

Will change the rear housing for street duties thanks to the V Band Twin Scroll clamps with ease :)

Factory 5 speed has been making all sorts of noises as those of you who have been in it recently would know so... I am about to bite the bullet(pending sale of my Pulsar) and order a 6 speed box that also allows me to use the S Edition Paddle Shifter kit... Sequential with Hydraulic Clutch and Shift engagement kit, interfacing with the Launch Control and FFS logic in the ECU. So far, I have also reprogrammed the BIU + Dash cluster to display the manuals selected 'gear' on the dash like the 09/10 4EAT's so I do not need the 80's retro porn looking red LCD gear display that they 'suggested' I use lol. Existing Exedy VF clutch will remain. In the mean time, will be using a GRB STi 6 speed manual for cog swapping until the new Sequential box is secured and arrives.

Summary: New engine, new turbo and new gearbox time!

Hey mate, this is of EXTROADINARY MAGNITUDE. :clapping:

Cant wait to see and go for blast when I return from hols.

You won't be flipping the inlet manifold unless you remove your power steering pump

But otherwise sounds good

Not arguing but there's a USA STi w/ reversed mani, ps pump & AC iirc ;)
Custom brackets and an NA mani make it possible iirc :)

GH8/SH9 Power Steer is not an issue

By putting the turbo underneath I can keep ABS in factory spot and it will just look like a CAI on an NA car

Engine oil cooler where the TMIC was and have it fully ducted to the ground for optimal heat disappation(low pressure under car scavenging sucking air through core)
