satogixxer wrote:Okay this may be obvious (to me) but just checking... you guys that are having problems are actually putting the disc in the correct slot aren't you and not the DVD audio slot?

i.e.
Step 1. Remove McIntosh bezel (suggest using a trim removal tool as shown)

Step 2. Eject the original Sat Nav disc and replace with the new one

If you're not doing this you're doing it wrong and I expect to see some  red faces.

Ok I admit I was putting mine in the DVD slot, I figured it had a hard drive inside which had the maps on it, either way my car didn't come with a trim removal tool, can I use a screw driver or butter knife ?

Ok got it working now, just used a butter knife, I wish someone had told me this from the start! Thanks guys, now just gotta find the latest update v20, although I was kind of hoping the update would include a change to the interface and map graphics, for a 2010 car it looks like something from an Atari game, disappointing compared to other cars I have seen

Just imagine how disappointed you'd be if you'd payed $295 for the update!

Great you got it working, but dare I say, next time RTFM.

Looks like v20 C2 is out today. Just need a seeder....

Interesting to see if they have done much, I have many streets around my suburb that are not in V19, and these suburbs have been there for 5+years.

I remember in the old days, my father would always get the latest UBD, as he worked for a building company and of course the streets where new houses were built were always new and empty. The UBD was up to date with the latest new roads even when there were no houses built yet, that's how they got you to buy a new one. Seems these days they do not buy the road data from the government, but do their own survey at their own pace. Consequently they can be 5+ years out of date.
Consequently, lack of guilt.

I got an email telling me the V20 maps are out but it seems they haven't got all models covered just yet.
I can see they have the V20 C1 maps available (Subaru Outback 2009) but not the V20 C2 maps for newer models (e.g. Subaru Outback 2011). For the Subaru Outback 2010 they are still showing the V19 C2 maps!

Guess we'll just have to wait a bit longer...

Thanks heaps for the info in this thread!

Just a heads up for anyone with a Mac who is following the directions a couple pages back, IMGburn is only for windows. I tried toast titanium and couldn't get it to work but then found this app which worked sweet: http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html

Anyone know if version 20 is available anywhere?

Does anyone have issue when using the burnt CDRom?

I successfully burn the iso into a cdr, and it can run in my car (exiga 2011) without problem in the beginning.
However, when running it for a long time, e.g., over 2hours driving, the map cdplayer started to have issue to read data from the disc.
I doubt the reason is that high temperature (the disc is quite warm when popping out from the player) decrease the readability of the disc.
But the original disc doesn't have the similar issue.

I'm wondering if any of you have the similar problem, or you have some specific cdr brand recommended for this purpose?
