How to clean WRX alloys?

I got a set of champagne coloured WRX 17s for my RX. Loving the look! ... except they have a layer of grime that's mixed with what looks like brake dust, as well as a couple of paint/marker markings

What's the best way to clean these wheels without ruining them? I have a gallon of "heavy duty floor cleaner" (sodium hydroxide based, very alkaline) in my shed. There's also some regular old degreaser lying around, like the stuff that comes in big aerosol cans from Supercheap auto. I googled a bit, but couldn't find anything really conclusive and don't want to ruin these great wheels.

What do you guys use? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I use bi carb soda and vinegar which works quite well for really stubborn brake dust.
