stolen number plates

Postby libsti » Sat Aug 02, 2008 7:55 pm

i went out on wednesday night, one of my staff won the upolster of the year from NSW tafe,i parked in the carpark of liverpool catholic club and when i got back i noticed my rear number plate was missing(libsti)
i wasnt too pissed just glad they did no damage or tried to take the whole car.
i went to greenvalley police to report the incident and they took the details, today i went to the RTA and couldnt belive the rip off.they want to charge me a prorata amount,i just payed for them 6 months ago so i would need to pay a further $350.00 to have them re made.so i got my old plates out of storage that i was going to give my son,and need to decide whether i cop the $350 charge or think of a new plate.
any ideas for a new plate or should i except being ripped off and keep my original plates?

Man, sorry to hear about that Norm! First Clarence and his valve stem caps, and now this! Isn't anything sacred anymore in this world?

But unless you can think of another plate, I say just eat the cost and get another set made. Just think of it as a lesson learned, as next time you'll remember to get rego plate covers and the anti-theft screws.

Otherwise if you're too miffed, use that $350 to hunt down and kill the people responsible.

If you do get another set made, you'll have the front spare won't you? Would you mind if I bought it? I came across this rear plate with 'libsti' and I think your spare front would match. :D

norm just get [LI.85.TI] or [LIB 57I]

I can picture the rta going around stealing number plates and racking $$$ form this.

Been there done that, I was using the black one at the front and navyblue at the back. No rule to say you're not allowed to have different colour front and rear.

Theiving bastards.........

I've had number plates stolen before aswell.

And this week not plate but the rear plate surround ( you may recall i had my front ones stolen not long ago), This time they stolen the rear and they bent my front plate trying to steal the front one.

So if you see the foooker with my custom plate surrounds, no doubt they like mods, so you can help modify their car with a brick to help their weight distribution.

Maybe they stole my frame to put on your rear plate Norm....

Why would people bother to steal nice plates when you can't use them?

Then again how much would it suck if they're used in robberies...

flip a coin!

Franky, you wouldn't have pics of this custom rego plate frame would you? Just so I don't start randomly chucking bricks through people's windows hoping that the unique frame they have may be yours. :D

Sorry to hear about this Norm. I'd just cop it sweet & pay those theiving bast*rds at the RTA. They are great plates & suit your car :D

I've got to say, those people are everywhere. Doesn't matter where you go. I've had people try to flog my rims in the middle of Castle Towers car park in the middle of the day. When you've got something that's nice (Be it valve caps, number plates, rims etc etc etc) some poor bast*rd is going to jelous & flog them. OR they'll key your car...

Where's the respect in todays society...?
