bilstein vs coilovers

Hi,
My front bils are sounding clunky, think they might need re valving or something.
Should I just get some coilovers? do coils go soft enough? whats the ride like compared to the stock bils?

Yes, yes, depends what you get, how stuffed your billies are, and how you set up your suspension (or by who).

I just did the lubed them up a bit with fork spray that i use on my mountain bike, sound a bit smoother.
Do you think they need revalving and approx cost i could expect, im mid north coast where everyone tries to rip you off.
BC's look good, but wondering if i can get them as soft as bilstein

See my comments in the first link about top mounts and regreasing the struts
Bc stock springs are almost 50% heavier by kg/mm but they don't really feel like that probably due to the adjustable damping...

Revalving is around $150 per corner -a service available at Quadrant Fulcrum and Heasmans among others.
Find a service with a shock dyno to cut out the middleman
Get street comfort damping unless race car, and choose your springs / ride height first - get the shocks done to suit.
3rbspec, coyote and alexiwoody have all done this

$2k would cover rebuilt billies on lowered springs (or s/h or entry level coilovers) f&r sway bars, rear HD swaybar mounts, upgrade lca bushes and an alignment.

Can you install any of it yourself?
What state/city are you in?

Anyway search dissassembling the struts repacking the grease between the damper and the strut.
But test the top nut & bearing first....

I will find out how to test the bearing and top nut.
what are the spring rate of the bils standard?
