The first set were fitted to Out6back's vehicle today

An exhaust shop fitted the headers, new cats and other bits and bobs.

The report was a small touch was removed from one or two holes on the flange plate with a die grinder for a more perfect fit - that said they could have been given a good shove and it would fit anyway.

He can own his own feed back on the rest of the experience

So I got a delivery on Monday arvo as my car was to be a test mule. A stickler for quality control is our Tim.

Got them fitted yesterday at Newcastle Mufflers. 2x 100cel Bokka Cats, 3rd cat delete, stock from resonator back. Kept with 2.25' (stock) pipe diameter.
With cats supplied the cost was $375.
The boys have done a pretty good job from what I can see. I didn't get to get under the car for looksies while it was on the hoist, & I haven't got right up under it yet for a decent suss.

So how's it go?
Great! (It was pre-tuned for headers by Matt)
Changed the power delivery completely. Spins up so much quicker with a nice torque increase too. Surprised me just how different it was to drive from these mods actually.
How's it sound?
Crap! **IMO. Dunno, maybe it's just me but when I step on the gas it sounds like I'm being chased by a swarm of bees -in a tin can.. Well, maybe a slight exaggeration, but it's way too tinny for me. Fair bit louder when given the berries too. Cruisin', it's great - possibly quieter than stock even. It's only when you give it some... Some may like it I spose, but it ain't for me & I'll be looking to jam another resonator in there somewhere, possibly 2 short ones between cats & resonator. This, by the way, isn't a direct reflection of the sound of the headers themselves of course. There are the 2x 100cel cats & the removal of the third that would obviously be contributing to the change in volume too.
But yeah, power wise, it's Bonza! Big difference.

Soz about the late write-up, I wanted to post this up last night but life got in the way.

BIG shout out to Tim. Absolute ripper of a bloke who won't stand for less than bang-on when it comes to the products he sends to market. Should be bloody proud of yourself mate. Thanks for giving the forgotten engine some love!!
Cheers, Jay.

For those who are changing to new high flow cats and free flow piping

Take a look at the attached picture and NOTE the position of the muffler right up front, this is a major winner in keep car noise to a minimum (like stock)

If you want somewhere in between the check PUDZ setup or others who have been this way before

For those adding headers into an otherwise stock system - your car will sound exactly as it always has - super quiet.

Some of you will begin receiving headers today - those in Qld

All IPEC shipments and yesterdays Aus post shipments contain no stickers - stock ran out

More available today, will post them out next week so that everyone has a sticker

2.25" -this car won't be SC'ed & was aiming to keep midrange torque. It's a family car..

Hey Tim,

I shot you an email the other day. I am interested in getting a set of stainless headers sent up to the states and was wondering if I can get a combo with shipping when the CAI get ready to go.

Tim your's being the stock setup from headers back, what sort of improvement did you get in driveability and power/torque delivery?

I already have a set of HiTech rear mufflers and I'm considering having the headers installed and mated up to the original pipework, I don't want drone nor a loud car but I don't want to lose too much in the way of power/torque increase by going this way. What do you think?
