Man I'm liking this thread. Unstoppable progress like freight train!

Lighter/stronger = better.

And they're STi...so they're just better by default

Sorry it was late, brain didn't consider that 'alloy' means lighter (which it always does with those *facepalm*) LOL

Until you put your money where your mouth is Mr "I'm too scared to go ID1000s because I'm afraid I have a weak drivetrain", and pull better than my 12.9 in the Foz, you can just go back to doing suspension swaps every other week

Today's update:
New FSB and F & R end links collected from G88. Also ordered a Cusco catch can and a DAMD wheel (round not flat bottom).

Rear end links are in, but I can't get up on the ramps my old man has as they're 4x4-spec and I scrape the front.

A massive thank you to Mick and Dominic at G88 for their time, patience and advice, it's greatly appreciated

I won't be able to talk about suspension swaps soon; Bilsteins with STi pinks this week and I just found out Cusco coils will be shipped tomorrow or the day after ;)

So got my new STi rear suspension links in yesterday. Went mostly without hiccups; the driver's side drive shaft wouldn't come out of the hub which made things interesting. Luckily my mate had a pair of R160 drive shafts lying around.
Billies with STi pink springs and cusco FSB also went in.

Loving it!!! It is chattery/jittery as I've been told it would be. But honestly, Brisbane roads are better than Sydney so it's all good :D

Have not been able to really push the car as it's kind of wet at the moment in Sydney....

Shav, she now sits like this:

Rides really well I think. Having an alignment done right now, so should track better and turn in should be crisper and more direct afterwards.

man that looks perfect IMHO. Awesome height and sets off the wheels nicely without it looking 'fully sick' or like a giraffe.

Thanks man! :)
I'm so happy with it. The front wheels carry -1.5* camber now as the tyres were sticking out a bit far; the 8" width and +48 offset means the rims sit 13mm further out than the ones on the tbSTi models.

As for ride, well, it's certainly not like a big Citröen or anything. But it's not overly harsh either. There's enough slow high-speed short damper to allow the car to ride over poor roads at 80 km/h without making it awful.
Big test will be tomorrow when I hit Mt Nebo/Glorious with a friend and her GTS86. If I can stick with her car through the corners, I'll be happy.

Anyways, suspension and alignment settings for anyone interested:

- tb STi Allow rear end set up (and spherical bearing end links)
- Superpro from LCA rear bushes: poly type with offset.
- Cusco 21mm FSB, 19mm RSB with end links
- Cusco Type-OA front strut tower brace with integrated brake stopper
- Cusco Zero-A coil overs with 6 kg springs F & R (rear can be increased to 8 kg without needing to re-valve the dampers at all)

Front (L/R)
Caster: 6.53* / 6.58*
Camber: -1.56* / -1.52* (coil over camber plates used)
Toe: 1.1 mm L & R
Ride height: 645 mm (road to guard through the hub)

Rear (L/R)
Camber: -1.23* / -1.27*
Toe: 0.6 mm / 0.7 mm
Ride height: 655 mm (road to guard)

I don't think I'll be needing any more suspension mods for the time being. The handles and rides quite nicely now, there is very little body roll and I have my understeer dialled in how I like it (yes, I actually like understeer; not much, but some)

Next up:
- Genome gauges install (oil temp and press. and boost pressure; these go in place of the cubby in between the centre vents)
- New headlights (HIDs I think; not sure, just asked Kris at RSS to get me some nice ones as mine are scratched and clouded)
- VF56 & JDM STi exhaust parts
- Tune.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for the specs, Thats pretty close to how I want mine setup too. Its a good mix between handling and comfort. :victory:

Remind me again, did you have to roll the guards with your rims?
Cheers
