Hi,

Introduce yourself

Hi,

Postby SMI77 » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:06 pm

Hi,

I’m Tony, from Mansfield, BrisVegas.
I’m an ancient computer illiterate, so am new to the ‘lingo’.
Like others, I have been tracking the forum for a short while.

New ride is an 08 Liberty GT-B tbSTi 6MT wagon – steel silver, # 049/250.
Bought an MY08, as if the new Liberty is anything like the new Impreza – no thank you!!!

Accessories are Bumperettes, Rear step protector, Towbar and Tinted front windows with strip across top of windscreen.

Mods are HKS E&S Premium catback system, HKS Panel Filter, Colour keyed front lip spoiler, Narva arctic blue HB3 bulbs in high beams, and sheepskin seat covers (front & rear).

Previous Rides:
2006 MY07 Liberty 3.0R spec B 6MT wagon - urban grey
2004 Liberty 2.5l 5MT wagon - mica green
1992 Liberty 2.2l 5MT wagon - white
1982 Mazda 323 Hatchback
1977 VW Golf
1974 Ford Falcon XB 302 auto “Surferoo” Panel Van, modded
1972 Mazda RX3 coupe, modded
1971 Mazda RX2 sedan
1968 Toyota Corona sedan
18?? Austin A30 - my mother bought for me to learn to drive.
Its main characteristics were lack of power & ‘what’ brakes.
Accordingly, one had to learn the art of driving without backing-off!!

No planned mods, but considering:-

ARC Scoop – “Phat GT” – are there any more for sale?
Please email with bank details and cost, or where I can purchase from.

Blow off valve – with the Panel Filter in one can hear the standard valve opening, particularly in ‘S’ & ‘S#” Drive.
Not sure if I really need an aftermarket one? Any comments?

A real Subaru is a wagon!!!!

Hi Tony, welcome to the forums!

Good to see someone around my area for a change (eight mile plains). Congrats on the new buy! You certainly have a history with the libs. :)

Phat can source the arc scoop, just send him a pm and he will take care of you. Regarding the bov, you could get a gfb hybrid and have it on a 50/50 setup if you were after something louder than the panel filter noise but not ridiculously loud. You can also easily switch it back to plum back or full atmo within a few minutes. Depending on what you feel like on the day. ;)

Welcome aboard Tony! Great selection mate. Sounds like you know plenty about Suby's too. Just take the resonator out and you will hear plenty of BOV sounds with the HKS panel filter. Save your hard earned $$ for other mods in my opinion unless you are planning some serious power upgrades, stock BOV works a treat and you will not have issues with the stock tune running even richer!

cheers dave

Yeah, just to clarify. If you wanted to go the after-market route, it would purely be for sound as there wouldn't be any gains otherwise.

Welcome aboard Tony!

As everyone else has mentioned speak to PHAT.

As Dave said if you want a louder bov noise the stock one is sufficient with a HKS panel filter.

Good work Tony.

I'm pleased to see you on the forum. Also great to catch up the other day.

Looking forward to hearing more from you and I agree with the wagon sentiment.
