Jaycar don't stock the Y cable only the straight one. I couldn't find any shop in Melbourne who did.

So I found that neat template that everyone has seem to of found..Customised it to my liking in photoshop, set it as my wallpaper...Just to clarify, is the next step just to make UCCW Hot spot widgets to launch what I have on my wallpaper there? Or should I be achieving this another way.....

Cheers

Statts - could do with our help again.

I have the minibox wired up and working correctly with the ignition state. Old facia has been removed and ready to start putting this back together.

Just trying to get the DAC connected to the head unit. I have a aux port in my centre console. Cant seem to work out what wire is what? I dont seem to have a FSL-21, but can i simply wire up a connection to the aux port?

Help appreciated...

Cheers, pix

Just letting you know I've been playing with a new launcher - buzz launcher.
It's pretty great. There is also an app called buzz widgets which will let you do hotspots. UCCW still seems to have more functionality however.

A great feature of Buzz is it let's you share your home screens (including widget locations) so if someone came up with a perfect one for nex 7 for example, you could share it with everyone and they'd be good to go straight away.

Hi Guys,

I've got everything installed, power working, DAC working to speakers from nexus.

Next issue - I have power supply charging the nexus 7. It is correctly chargin according to ignition state, however the tablet doesnt go into deep sleep mode or awake. I am running Timur's ROM and I see an option for 'FI MODE' but I do not get a choice to select it.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Pix

This means you don't have a USB OTG cable plugged into the Nexus 7

Might have to give this a go. I cannot get UCCW to work for me with hotspots. I can get them to either launch back into the UCCW config (which i understand is what is meant to happen if you do not have them 'enabled', but if i create an app hotspot ie Maps, it makes a sound like it should work and then i get nothing.

Hey liberty fans...
Just a quick message to say thanks for the help getting this done! nexus is in installed and looking ace! Slight issue where aux/sound is only going to left side... need to do some investigation on power management as well (20min commute to work isnt charging it enough!)

Great little project and helpful page. Thanks to Statts for the assistance along the way....!! (Statts - got another OTG cable and power is working! you were right!)....

Good to hear :)

I was on the final straight - mount the Nexus - and managed to crack the screen taking the back cover off (Note to self; place nexus on flat surface, do not use kitchen knife).

Awaiting new screen + digitiser from China, the test fit was good before I munged things up, seriously impressed with the sound using a DAC. After using aux in for months with a 12" sub in the boot, I had to turn the bass down! Was rediculously easy to run a USB extension cable down to the passenger footwell for a removable USB thumb drive, too. Better than cutting into the glove box IMO.

My Nexus install has become slightly more complicated by the fact that i'm now also going to be running 2 x Nexus 7's in the headrests for the kids. Plan is to have this all controlled from the dash Nexus 7 using UpNP. Looks feasible, can stream different files to different devices simultaneously (which is good because one rugrat likes Toy Story, the other Dora  ). Using a mixture of XBMC and BubbleUPnP. Local storage handled by a 2tb drive mounted in the glovebox in place of the factory satnav dvd drive.
