Thanks Patrick. Appreciate your support. I'm not doing anything super fantastic, just trying to keep a balanced view on mods at this point. Also wouldnt mind this car having a bit of a 'sleeper' appeal too. :P

:)

I like the word "balanced". And then things escalate... LOL.

Yeah we should do lunch mate. Just need to sort the tune out first with Matt. The tune still isn't right so I need to wait till Matt gets here before I can give it some stick. Might have to log some runs to send to him. Other than that it looks and drives nice when driven sedately.

Just found out the stock cat is blocked on my exhaust rendering the fine tuning of my tune quite difficult. (no this is not an april fools joke)

Have just ordered an Invidia s/s dump pipe with 100 cel cat built in. http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/produc ... MATIC.html

I thought, well I wanted to do the dump and now that the cat is stuffed, I may as well do both rather than spend 200-300 + fitting for the cat alone. My mate is a mechanic and owes me a favor too so I'll get it fitted by him just in time before Matt comes to SA for a tune tweak later this month.

It kind of all adds up come to think of it. The economy on the car has gotten worse for a while now (even prior to the exhaust being fitted), the power from a certain rpm range is a little stiffled too. And then with the boost cut issues, nothing added up. But I reckon Matt is spot on with the cat being blocked as it will cause similar symptoms.
Cheers

Enjoy the new dump Shav.
Few of us have had them fitted now and they are a quality bit of kit :good:

Increase turbo noises give me little warm tingles also

haha. Thanks Ian. Im hoping for better torque, economy, and smoother acceleration mostly. But I've also been doing a lot of research on a dump pipes suited to my car, quality, material, cost, performance as well as not having to modify anything and reviews and it just looked like Invidia ticked all the boxes.

How did you find yours in terms of performance pre and post tune?
Cheers

Definitly ticked all the boxes for me too. Hard to find an auto dump that's for sure!!!

The spool time is crazy improved, so much quicker to get on boost and get it out the back I the turbo.
Pre and Post tune is worlds apart.
Biggest improvement by far that I've done to the car :good:

Absolutely no flow which was the sign something was going on. 19psi boost cut with 150g/sec of airflow. It is the equivalent of trying to breathe out of a McDonalds straw as your cheeks bellow up with pressure ;)

Boost is a measure of restriction in the intake manifold ;)

Just ordered one of these for when the dump gets fitted.

Hopefully looks good and keeps things from getting burnt.

I know I cold have used and modified the stock heat shield but I wanted something a bit better looking under the bonnet. :P
