Here are the results of today's testing with high accuracy pressure test equipment. Measured in inches of H20
The result shows pressure rises (red line - CAI) of between 300 and 800%!
The car really comes alive insanely when it can breath this easy, the first few mins after loading the tune just blew me away like it did when I tested previously.
TO UNDERSTAND THE CHART - consider the top of the chart atmospheric pressure, and bottom of chart is BIG vacuum, for engine to breath easy (and make MORE power) you need a pressure line to be nearer to top of chart
Quite interesting how the start points are very close for both systems, up to 3000rpm there's nothing in it between the 2.
Now I have this data - I feel more certain about the attached dyno XRT did for me way back last year is correct. With pressure rises this massive (more air molecules in manifold) it can only be expected that 10Kw of extra power is possible - AND maybe more. I would expect I am likely to be overwhelming the stock cats through sheer extra flow with the headers and the CAI combo.
The next thing is - the BIG BLACK box that everyone removes when they add their 3" CAI pipes actually causes NO restriction and is best left ON the car. Removing it is only a bad thing, it would be same story for the H4s as well.
