Hi from North Queensland!

Postby Bening93 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 8:00 pm

Hi there! My name is Ben and recently purchased a 2007 (my08) subaru liberty heritage for a price I could not refuse. This is my first bought car and first time driving a subaru ( I might of been converted from Mitsubishi!) I was wondering if there is any subaru clubs around the mackay area? Also, as I don't have iPod/aux input, I heard that there is a part if I remember right it's part no. H6210AG000 that can be used, is that true?

Do you have the McIntosh system in your lib?
If so, go with the Wavetech AUX input, it's much cheaper than the Subaru part and the only difference is the AUX cord will be permanently installed in your car (as in, you won't have to buy an AUX cord), and you'll need a 3.5mm to RCA Cable to connect with the part.

I managed to pick up a AUX input for the car, it took the guy from Subaru nearly 3 hours to find it! It wasnt cheap though, it cost $200 lol. The reason for the high price was due to my model being limited edition as there was a satnav fitted as a option. I was considering making my own wiring harness but after he showed me the wiring diagram I throught it might be best to just buy it from subaru haha.

Welcome to North Queensland! :) I haven't met any other Liberty owners up here, but I'm in Townsville. I know there's at least one other Mackay member (V6 Supercharged I believe). I'm in Mackay a few times a year, since my girlfriend is from there (and her family still live there). There was one forum member up here in Townsville who asked about other people in the area. But her never posted again.

Oh awesome! Would you happen to know if there are any subaru car clubs in mackay? I'm currently in a mitsubishi club but it would be cool to see some subaru's and see what they have done to them!

Hmm, the only one I could find was the Mackay WRX Club:
http://web.aanet.com.au/mackaywrx/links.htm

In terms of Mackay members on here, this was posted in Oct ("Anyone on here around Mackay? I'm bored!"). Ryan was only up there for a shot time for work, but Hayden (aka HAYDENtattoo) replied and sounded like he lives there.
You can see if they've entered their location on the right-hand side above their profile name and car:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=24090

This is the Supercharged 3L V6 Liberty owner from Mackay I was thinking of (1st post, Tim aka Tradewind):
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=18901

Or maybe it was this one...(amazing that there are 2 Supercharged 3L in Mackay  - Brad88, 2nd post on the page).
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11605&start=15

This page is a bit older (from 2011), but Brendon aka Climic's status says he last visited the site a few days ago. So he's still around - and in Mackay according to his profile:
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14146

These guys even say "Mackay is the hometown of H6 mods of the entire world" hehe cool :D . No members I hadn't already mentioned above, but still interesting because the thread is titled "Best place to take my wagon in Mackay?"
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22370

And finally - sorry to put up so many links. I don't know theses guys, I can only direct you to them, I'm pretty sure the 1st poster Scott is also from Mackay. The tuner Matt (KiDo Tuning) mentioned on another thread that Scott is keen for Mackay to get E85. I think this is the Scott he was talking about:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14553&start=15

So it doesn't look like there's an official club. But by the look of it, there are enough guys where you are to start a small one.

Thanks for that! It would be good to start one up and could have some cruises up north. I might try some expression of interests and make a page on Facebook later on tonight :D

Scott I mentioned works at Porters Hardware. Oddly enough, HaydenTattoo works there too with a H6 wagon

Scott has a white STi and his girlfriend has a red one. They are usually out hunting as pairs terrorising the V8 guys in Mackay
