Boost cut left low for a CBE for safety is always a good feature until the dump pipe goes on! lol

I would recommend a PLX Devices DM100 OBD2 Touch as it plugs in where Tactrix is and lets you view all the data out of the ECU :) Purdy has one in his :)

Bezzza wrote:So have flashed my new tune for the mods.
Small issue with boost cut which has been rectified.

Car has plenty of boogie now :D
Slight increase in induction noise from dump and filter, but nothing outrageous.
Exhaust sound is not as harsh as before the dump install, guessing this is due to the unrestricted flow now.

All in all very happy with the outcome and no doubt with a few more revisions back and forth with Matt, the fun will only increase!

Also after any advice on gauges/tools which would be a good idea to purchase to keep an eye on things.
Will currently just be using my Tactrix and learning view to do a fortnightly check.

EDIT:
My learning view after the tune for those interested.
I'm still reading up on the logging aspect of things so don't fully understand what the below means just yet. I am slowly getting there though :p

Just a little update.

Mostly cosmetics done recently.
Installed my ABS and Battery covers i received from Japan. Also Cusco radiator shroud to give the engine bay a little more "bling bling".
Image

Also finally got around to installing my rear slotted rotors which have been sitting in my room for months!
Car stopping nice and smooth :)
Image

Do still need some advice on blue lug nuts to purchase to match my valve caps?
Leaning toward Muteki SR48's but not too sure on length and more so the "open end" look of them.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Next on the list is coilovers to rid the car of the ugly knocking noise from front right spring.
Frantically saving as we speak!

Aint that the truth, your endlink selection plays a big part....

PTFE spray the hats and top bearings monthly...
I saw Whiteline are introducing greaseless swaybar bushings - PTFE imgregnated.

My service guy at Maximum thinks it may be that the spring is somehow not seated correctly in the top hat.
Couple hundred bucks to strip and reseat the spring so I decided to put that towards coilovers.
Most likely only be able to stretch to BcBr's at this stage which will include KCA313 whiteline kit and associated install/alignment.

Yes coilovers will be more noisy in theory, but noisy for a reason and it's known.
Improved handling will also negate me hearing said noises

Heey Ian!

Your car is looking fricken awesome!! You've done an awesome job!! How much did you TMIC set you back and where did you get it from??
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Nice. Well I'll be getting my mechanic to strip and reseat the spring myself at this point to the front only. There is something not quite right and it seems like it gets inherited from the factory. Im gonna see how that works, failing that, I may follow in your footsteps and go all out for coilovers.
Cheers

I'd research that before proceeding ;)
The usual culprits are:
- a knackered top mount bearing - replace with OE or WL Camber Caster.
- dried up grease in the strut body - between the yellow outer strut and the upside down damper inside it - tear down and repack or drill and tap grease nipples onto the strut body
- another suspension component making noise.

I don't think it's a grease issue as front swaybar only just went only with a tonne of lube and there's no noticeable leaking from the shock.
He did note that one of my top threads was showing more then the other which we both found odd :s
This is what pointed to a possible mis-seated spring.

Caution wrote::good: looks so much neater with all the covers on there... good idea with the cut engine cover to.

Thanks, gives it that "euro" feel with all the covers I reckon. Is a bit of a pain when you want to get in and clean or do work though haha!
