5th Gear Acceleration Shaky

Hi guys,
Recently when accelerating in 5th gear from around 80kph to 100kph my car shakes and the gear knob wobbles front and back like crazy, same feeling to when your about to stall, very jerky. But once it reaches 100kph its smooth again. Any ideas?
Is it clutch related or gearbox?
Clutch also squeaky when I press down on it.

Also what is top speed in 1st gear you guys can reach, mine keeps revving but doesn't go past 25kph, I'm sure it use to be faster.

Sounds like you clutch is slipping, you should be able to get over 40kph in 1st, if it keeps revving but not increasing speed then it must be slipping. also the shaking in 5th sounds like slight clutch slippage.

When was the last time your clutch was replaced?--you may be due to replace the clutch.
the squeaky noise when you press down on the clutch sounds like a worn pressure plate/throw out bearing which is a common noise when your clutch kit gets old...

in other words time for a new clutch kit i think...hope this helps

Yeah I thought 20kph in 1st gear was weird...

Thanks mate I suspected it was to do with the clutch. I think its still factory clutch about to be 175,000km so yeah I'll start looking into a replacement/upgrade clutch then.
