Hey lads
Ive been reading back thru all the recent posts the last day or so and it seems there is two schools of thought.

Below is a short summation on my part, of course this could be well off the mark.

Target Power 230awkw or 375-385bhp @flywheel on E85 fuel.

1 - DW 65c and 560 - 565cc injectors will be adequate at 80-85% duty cycle. Eg Gino's S/Ced 237awk set-up.

Copy of Flow Calculator site that kiahatsiu posted below.

Flow Calculator Web Site
# of Cylinders 6

Fuel Pressure (psi) 50
Engine Aspiration Supercharged
Horsepower desired 386bhp @ flywheel or 230awk
Duty Cycle (?) 85%

Injector Size Required
Fuel Type cc/min lb/hr

Gasonline 407.69 39
E85 530 50

2 - DW 65c with Pierburg 300 and ID725cc - 850cc injectors as per Mick's detailed calculation, along with upgraded pump wiring.

At the moment im waiting on tuner Matts thoughts and recommendations before an informed and sensible decision can be made taking into account all
the advice and experiences offered at this point.

Once again Thanx All for ur input

Sorry grant I should've clarified. My initial mention of stock wiring not being adequate was on the basis current draw at peak flow was going to be a lot higher. At 12.6 amps the stock wiring should be fine.

The only thing I'm now suggesting is to change the stock plug and stock 3-4cm of wiring inside the cradle (blue and black wires) that go to the plug. Once you open the cradle you will know what I'm talking about.

Using my calculations - if you only want 230atw max on e85, then that's 380 flywheel hp say

380 x bsfc of 0.8
= 304 lb/ hour

Or 192 lph

Dw65c at 60psi (43.5 psi base pressure, 12 psi boost, 5psi system losses)
Flows 210lph at 12v and draws under 13amps. So that's fine.

192 lph = 3200cc/min
Across 6 injectors therefore required peak flow is 533cc per injector

This is at 100% duty cycle

At 85% this is 627cc or at 90% its 600cc

The problem with running closer to 100% dc is the above are just estimations of your power and fuel requirements at a given boost reference

Lets say for arguments sake that at 10psi you actually make 250awkw. You won't have enough injector headroom there to accomodate.

Thus my suggestion for a 750cc injector and if you're going to go to that level, please just go with the id1000's which have better latency and scale so much easier than other after makets its not funny.

My id1000's on 98 when I had them would idle better than my car stock. And my duty cycle at the time even at peak power on the 196kw atw tune was under 35%

Justin, thanx heaps for sharing ur journey so far. Im a little bit more at ease now considering u have had no dramas with with the stock wiring, fuses etc.

What was the reason u went from dw 65c to dw 300 ?.

I stumbled across the go-pro vid of ur & Gino's cars in ur thread last nite. Ur's is an absolute weapon and G's is not too far behind.
Luvin the sound they both make. :)

Reason for upgrade was to increase flow and hopefully make over 300kw with current setup safely( also current turbo is at max cfm eff range which kinda doesnt help )

I installed the dw300 recently pending a retune, in the meanwhile I went to install a new filter bucket and in the process snapped off the dw300 nozzle(long story)...so for now I'm back to dw65c....and cant be bothered upgrading again.....

I could take another approach and maybe get a dc to dc converter and up the voltage? boost a pump is another option? upgrade wiring and setup with a relay? theres quite a few options that could be explored....

My car doesnt have the proper boxer rumble no more and its much more quiet which I like...I guess it still sounds okayish...

But yeah brother gino's car gives me many smiles every time I hear it, drive it or in it.....linear power with very good mid - top end pull 8) not to mention the awesome sound!!!!

My car is but a small pistol compared to some of the sub machine gun weapons in this forum... but thanks for the pleasing comments

goodluck with your future upgrades and keep those charged H6's coming along! love em :D

You have my forgiveness Mick, but only this once.

In all seriousness thanx heaps for helping out a somewhat Noobi on fueling. ill definitely be looking at upgrading the wiring for the plug and cradle, appreciate d heads up. I have spoken with Matt and he certainly endorsed ur view and also others on the ID1000's for e85. Its rolling, bit the bullet this arvo. :)

FPR 800, speedflow fittings and WRX upgrade Map sensor are already on the way, ID1000's ordered as a matched set of 6 thru CarMods/Inj Dynamics.
Should see the ID's in about a week n a 1/2. Have Iridium IX LFR7 plugs to install also. PITA, not looking forward to the plug change. So frustrating the time it takes.

CarMods on the Goldie were awesome to deal with, and very competitive pricing. Thanx Tim from CM.

Also grabbed a metre of Gates Greenshield Technology fuel injection hose.

Have NGK LFR7AIX plugs to throw in as well. This PITA job will be done Thursday am. Hopefully I make it to Matt's in time for my 98RON tune revision.

Cheers Benny

Al & libz05, agreed hanging out for a lip. Cause of ordinary driveway I cant really go with an Sti style lip. It would get knocked up rather quickly - spewing.

So im waiting for a PU style one. OTR Motorsports wont have any stock for a couple of mths they say. :(

Havent been able to source one elsewhere as yet. Anyone know otherwise please let me know.

Thanx
