Battery Change Lights Still On

On the way to work the other day the charge (battery light) and handbrake light came on and went off. After work the car refused to open via the remote. Jump started and away I went. Replaced the battery today and the battery light and handbrake light are still staying whilst driving. Anyone know how I can clear it so these lights are off as they should be while driving?

Havnt been able to come around on any topic through the searching.

Sounds like a charging/ alternator issue to me.

Check all your fuses and belts/ pulleys/ idlers/ tensioners

What Robbks said is on the money. The battery light on most cars means an issue with the alternator, not necessarily the battery.

Grab a multi-meter and check what the alternator voltage is on idle. Should be between 13.8-14.4, if it's over or under that you have a problem for sure.
Get it checked over by an auto-sparky or competent mechanic also.

Was checked by a mechanic at my work, showing 14.4 volts on idle with old battery.

Is there a way of clearing the faults and seeing if they come up again?

If it's thrown a CEL and that's what causing the lights to come on it can be cleared. Get someone with an OBD2 to plug in and check for you.

Cheers mate, thats what I thought needed to happen but wasnt sure if there was a way around it.
