Hi Matt, just a suggestion, is there any chance that when you finalize dates and locations for each of your tuning tours, you can post them up on the first page?

As a few people know I am practically always developing new stuff in my spare time, so my free retunes policy take up a lot of my time then for the last 18 months I have been busy with a huge contract or 2... that a few people know of and have seen me deeply involved in.

Right now, I have basically cracked about 40 new tables in the ECU wide open and suddenly 200Kw from VF52 WRX's or Liberty's with just a dump pipe are now easy on less boost than ever before... a LOT less. 15.4psi VF46 tunes are now getting 120Kw@wheels at 2700rpm, 16.2psi VF56 tunes going 135Kw@3000rpm and GTX2863R going 154Kw@2700rpm on 18psi on pump fuel. By running less boost, the turbo exhaust wheel becomes less restriction to flow and the size of the turbine outlet and wastegate flap no longer hinder airflow through the engine, resulting in an engine much more willing to rev and more importantly make a higher peak power. I have the compressor flow charts from FHI for the VF series turbos so boost pressures are optimal and result in longer turbo life as well :)

Here is the cool part... I can now lock the ECU into Write Only under some conditions which I will get to... So if you want to get a retune from another workshop at some point, they can copy a stock tune over the top and it removes my lock and my unique identifier. You or your workshop will not be able to download my tune but each customers tune will have a unique identifier in the tune, so pending paperwork, if I load on a tune and you wish to purchase a full extended 3 year engine warranty on the tune for an additional fee, it will be possible. The tune must be loaded in person by me, the identifier must be present during an ECU scan if an engine failure occurs to ensure you did not have it tuned elsewhere and the software will also tell me if major mechanical changes were made(insurance underwriter has this as a condition) and the engine if requiring replacement will be a complete factory replacement. No upgrades or forged motors unless you pay additional parts/labour
Obvious timing belt or waterpump or oil pump failures, 'some' headgasket issues and known big end bearing swarfe issues in some early 2.5's will be excluded as would water flood damage or low engine oil issues, the ECU and BIU will KNOW ;) All work will be carried out by a Nationwide workshop network where the car will be towed for assessment and engine replacement. Expected engine replacement turn around is 3 business days. Cars fitted with a CAI of any type, unfortunately, will be unable to take up this offer due to not being ADR approved(insurance legality) but a full Turbo back exhaust with atleast one catalytic converter will be covered. Some existing customers who meet the criteria will be able to take out the offer as well :) This importantly will also cover my E85 flex fuel tunes

Final details and pricing for this warranty are in progress and expect to have more information shortly. Pricing is expected to be extremely attractive for this offer as well

Matt I think this sounds both exciting and very positive that you are broadening and maturing your offering based on your R&D knowledge and confidence in the quality and reliability of the tunes. This sounds like a win for customers and KiDo Tunes :). I am actually very happy to be a customer of yours and although the arrangement has been quite different from past experiences with tuners I must say it has worked really well but assurance and accountability were always based on your good will (not that I ever had an issue or thought I would have an issue dealing with you). I foresee your challenge will be all of those personal visits to upload the tune and retunes, or is that just initially so the ID is locked in and then updates can be done by user using your update files? Will the 'locked' part requiring you to physically do the upload only be applicable to those that take up the warranty option?

Exact details are being worked out, essentially I intend on using the EcuFlash Licensing system for tune updates if required. A file and definition will be provided and the software makes the memory changes required while also confirming the Identifier has not changed.

I have spent the last few months tuning FA20DiT engines so the intention is that once they are released, I can do tunes that take over the manufacturers warranty for new WRX/FXT/LGT STi ;)

5" to 4" reducer with 4" pipe to turbo inlet ;)

Kudos to you for the time and effort to bring such functionality and assurance to the Subaru community

You have definitely overtaken most of them out there and its showing in your offering

No logs cos no time. What am I logging for again? VE table input update? Lets wait til I do the rear housing. I have a sneaking suspicion this will be a slingshot once that is done and retuned.

3.0 Head gasket would be covered? Mine will be fixed hopefully within a month. I'd hate to get it fixed and then same problem happen again. If this is covered I would possibly have your babies as my confidence will go through the roof.

Great to see you moving up in the world!

This is the best news I've heard matt.

I'm wrapped in not only your tunes but your level of experience and expertise on this venture.

I would be more than happy to pay for your warranty and continue to solely get my car tuned thru you. I've had nothing but personal positive experiences from you mate.

This new revised tune which 'mynaneisdaniel' kindly installed for me last night (big thanks again mate) is the best tune yet. More torque at less rpm, economy has improved at over 1L/100km better than previous and the auto is shifting better than it ever has which is far more adaptable to my driving style.

If you guys have had previous tunes by matt, get this revision done ASAP. It's a pearler.
Cheers
Shav
