Shame about your clutch issues, but you' shouldn't be dynoing in 5th gear ever.

Supposedly in the 6-speed transmission, 5th is the closest to 1:1.

Didnt realize it was a 6 speed actually

But even then, 4th is adequate

I would never use 5th as its an over driven gear .891 in an 07-08 lib this is asking for a blown box or fucked clutch due to the extra load on a taller gear, it will also be a longer pull and more issues come with cars and longer pulls.

4th is 1.137 so really not much difference between the 2 gears and it will probably be a stronger gear anyway. if your tuner is doing your car in 5th I would ask how good is he cause he should know all this kind of stuff...

I told Mao 4th gear, even 3rd gear would have been good. Mao wanted 5th gear and adjusted the ramp rate to suit.

Considering we had clutch slip 2 days prior, it was likely going to slip in 3rd anyway

Fair enough! Some people are sold on the closer to 1:1 thing but don't see why it's bad to use an over driven gear in cars often 4th is straight though and doesn't use gears and therefore stronger 5th being over drive is always weaker same with 6th most people tow heavy stuff hin 4th than an over driven gear for the same reason even if it has the toque to lug it

List updated.
Clutch failed on Friday. Could still drive (carefully) but it was slipping pretty much the whole time. Glad I ordered the clutch when I did. New parts getting fitted today.

Got the car back. The clutch is great. Hardly heavier than stock. Took only about 10min to get used to. Seriously regretting the shifter bushings though. I knew there'd be increased drive noise but I didnt expect it to sound like a crash box.
Just need to get back on the dyno now.

The Perrin front and rear shifter bushings. I knew they added some noise but I didnt expect it to be as much as it is. Shifter assembly emits a supprisingly loud noise.

Still no joy with this car. I've been told according to my logs the ECU is having some sort of AVCS fault which is causing it to use only the Cruise mode AVCS table. Last dyno run showed the turbo oscillating badly (sine wave peak-to-peak of 6psi!) and failing to reach correct peak boost. Despite the turbo and AVCS malfunction I still managed 190kwatw. Injectors are working pretty hard at peak so I might upgrade to ID1000. Planning TGV deletes later too, as well as a turbo blanket. Probably going to remove the shifter bushings. They are just too noisey. I can hear them over the sound system.

Are you going to get a tactrix, log the VVT angles etc, post the logs here for analysis, get replacement OCV's and install them?

Or let your workshop sort it out?

I went through all that but I didn't have the boost oscillation issue...

Also id1000s are said to be too big for stock/ish turbo power levels.
Are you going a bigger turbo any time soon?

Log attached. Road test in third gear.
Matt is already looking at the log. I'm awaiting further details from him. He also reccommended ID1000 on the grounds that they have lower latency and are easier to tune. Leaves headroom for E85 too. I'll be running 18psi and should be achieving between 200-210kwatw. Not sure what sort of air flow that would have.
