Hello from the ACT

Postby Johnb » Thu Jul 10, 2008 10:18 pm

Just joined the Liberty forum.

Name is John, I'm located in Canberra and I bought a new MY07 Subaru Liberty GT Spec B tuned by STI (must be the longest name of a car ever released) in June 07 and it is the best value allround road car I've ever bought.

Not sure if I'll modify it but thinking of remapping the engine software to get a bit more out of it. May add a bigger rear sway bar. For road use it is well set up. You have to be doing illegal speeds to get anywhere near its limits and even as you approach those its more controllable than a lot of very expensive cars.

Replaced a Honda Euro (highly overrated car) and drove a lot of cars before buying the STI. I've described it to friends as the best drive this side of a 911 (AWD of course).

and I love it. Now with improvements.

Ahh, another STi owner. Welcome, John! I see you're already on the MY07 STi list that Ric set up.

Yes, I too was quite satisfied with the STi when I first got it. But once I realised the potential of it, that changed my thoughts entirely. What the GT and STi are capable of with just a few tweaks is simply amazing. I was once happy with my car, but now very happy with it despite still being in a near stock condition and appearance.

Very fitting, my old man upgraded to a 911 C4S from the Liberty GT, which I am proud to call my own :)

Welcome!

We all at one stage thought we weren't going to do any mods, but I'm sure that will change. :P

You'll find great advice here mate.

Cheers
Matt

Welcome John,

Good to see another Canberra person on the forum. I drive a MY04 Red wagon with a couple of external mods ie front lip, 18's and sports grille(and a few more to come).

Keep an eye out to see if any ACT events come up. I am looking at organising a skid pan day some time in the near future for anyone interested (not only ACT of course).

Cheers,
Kev

too late, it all starts with minor things and then............ then you meet a few of lads on this forum..........

you might find from others on here that your exhaust would be a good place to start, also a throttle controller and booster controller, but the best mod would be a hks panel filter for improved air flow.
