Hey guys...

Anyone got GAS for the there tyres?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of this??

You mean nitrogen? (cos air is still a gas... mostly oxygen, and others... :P)

Some science geeks can correct me if I am not 100% on my calculations, but people spank on about how much better nitrogen is for your tyres etc, but isn't oxygen 70=% nitrogen anyways.

Defeats the purpose IMO, and is just a rort, but good luck to the people who fall for it.

I think you mean "air", not "oxygen". There's NO nitrogen in oxygen!

Nitrogen is good.. It shouldn't be expensive.. maybe $20 all up.. so haggle!! It means your pressures stay more constant than air..

Plus you get cool red valve caps.. unless you already have GREDDY or RAYS valve caps or something :)
Gen1, Gen2, Gen3, Gen4.. No mods, honest...

lol my bad.. didnt know it was posted before so nerrrr :P

but yeah cool thanks for that.. aint bother me really.. i guess u could pop 1 with some kinda control.. and it could act like nos? cops couldnt find it then bahahaha jokin!

yeah that's all i hurd.. that it stays air'd up longer rather then just the air it's self in the tyres :)

I have nitrogen in my tyres and i find it to be OK but its not worth the money, I only had my tyres filled with them cause I wasnt paying for it. Nitrogen has its strength and weaknesses, apparently it helps the cars handling (I cant say its made a massive difference but the tyres do seem firmer with it), apparently it helps lengthen the tyre life (i have only had it in my tyres for 8000 kays which isnt very long but the tyres arnt wearing too bad).

The big weaknesses I see with it is the car rides harsher and the tyre noise seems to be louder. I suppose it depends what you are going for, im not sure what it costs but i dont think it should be really worth much.

I was looking up a Goodrich wheel overhaul manual and I found a very good explanation about why you fill tyres with Nitrogen:

A chemical reaction of atmospheric oxygen and volatile gases from the tire inner-liner is possible. This reaction can cause a tire explosion during some overheated wheel conditions. To decrease this risk, inflate wheel and tire assemblies with dry nitrogen for testing, storage, and on-aircraft usage. (Ref. Part 39 of the Federal Aviation Regulations).
