Titanium Exhaust System

Postby stuwr250f » Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:59 pm

Quick question, a good friend of min is looking at purchasing a 2006 GT Spec B, he has been told it has a $5,000 titanium cat back exhaust. I haven't seen the car, but it sounds very exotic to use a titanium exhaust on a Subaru. Does any one know if such a system exists?

Thanks. Wow that surprises me, thought stainless was about as exotic as it would get for a humble Liberty, don't get me wrong I love them, but just seems excessive. Sounds like a sweet car, with MRT mods.

Had a thorough check done on it today, compression test etc...

Get the ECU checked to see if has an ECUTek tune and MRT has locked it. Can cause problems if they have.

If mrt have touched it id get it checked over thoroughly and id recommend getting the ecutek tune checked out also, id previously had an ecutek tune that resulted in cracked headgasket.

Thanks guys. It seems the mod was done a number of years ago and is all sweet. The only stumbling block is that the rear crossmember has been replaced, as in looks brand new. However no panel damage or repair. Anybody have an idea, why this might have been replaced? The obvious one we could think of, it might have tagged a gutter...I suggested that he takes it to a wheel alignment shop just to see if it's running straight and true.
