Check engine light on after a service

Postby chilledawg » Tue Dec 17, 2013 2:54 pm

Hi Guys

So today I did an oil and filter change, I also cleaned the air filter out and put on a new top hose for the radiator and flushed out the old coolant however now the check engine light has come on as well as the cruise light keeps flashing, I'm not sure what I could have done wrong or if maybe I've hit a cable somewhere but the car seems to be running properly so I'm not sure where to start looking, any ideas of what could have gone wrong?

Cheers

Mine turned out to be blocked cats messing with the o2 plugs.

I don't think it would be the cat seeing as it only came on after the service, although cleaning the air filter may have tricked it

Go get the code cleared and see if it pops back up after a couple days.

Dont forget to ask for the code #

Would I have to go to Subaru to get that done? or is there other mechanics that could do it?

5 restarts or just take off the battery to reset it. See if it comes back.
then a $10 bluetooth OBD dongle and Torque App on your phone

Did you disconnect the MAF sensor when you cleaned the air filter?

If you did, was it reconnected when you finished?
