CUSTOM AIR INTAKE QUESTION

I'll be getting a stainless steel pipe custom made to go from my air box directly to the throttle body shortly, i notice on the passenger side of the car there is a small rubber vacuum hose connected from the engine to the turbulence neutralising box which is located just before the throttle body.

Does anyone know exactly what that hose is for?
I notice if i take it off and put my finger on the hole it slowly builds suction on my finger then after about 10 seconds a not very nice sounding noise comes from the engine, (while idling) i was hoping i could just plug it, because i will have a bit of mucking around extending it and tapping it into the pipe i will have made up... but obviously its something important and it needs to be there.....SO WHAT IS IT??? if you need a picture of it just let me know.

It's a crankcase breather don't not block it.
Ither vent it or plumb it into your new intake or catch can

ok ill plumb it in the new intake, id prefer it to breathe filtered air.
