I have a Kenwood XW800F on the stock amp. Had to go in a DIY box- it will fit in the stock location but you will find the added power causes too much vibration, and definitely do the amp hack http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=19926

An option anyway. I recommend it. Easy upgrade, 10x better sound.

Been running an aftermarket sub at full volume for a long time and haven't had trouble with the amp.
Polk 840 8".

I wouldn't trust autobarn.

The stock sub is worthless, if you buy a used one it will probably fail soon just like your current one.

Waste of time tearing your car apart to put something weak back in .

I haven't done the sub gain mod yet though.

Anyway if you were to blow the stock amp, wouldn't that just be a good excuse to buy yourself a better one for xmas?
