McIntosh Model Number and Compatibility Issues

Postby Jiyujin » Thu Dec 05, 2013 2:19 pm

Hello,

I have a Liberty 2007 Premium 2.5i Wagon My08 with a McIntosh system in it. I would like to know where the model number is located as I'm interested in purchasing a GROM USB2+.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Jiyujin

Hey sjm69,

Thank you for the reply!
I was hoping that there was another way to find it without removing it but will try to take it out during the week to confirm.
Have sent you a PM as well.
Cheers!

I have the PF-28241 unit Made in Japan with the GROM-IPD3. SWC works like a charm.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have already contacted Cushie Audio, and here is their reply.

"There is only one supported McIntosh radio and that's the PF-28241. It's only compatible with the GROM BT3 and IPD3 car kits. There is however one flaw and that is the PF-28241 doesn't support stereo or steering wheel control."

Cheers!

I'm on the same boat as db1. I've got a PF-28241 mad in Japan and everything works with my GROM-IPD3 on FW version 5.

Do you have GROM-IPD3 or GROM-USB2+? Do you know what version FW it has?

Currently have a grom-ipd3. Tried usb2 before that also no luck as far as FW goes I updated about 6-7 months ago so not to sure what version I'm on

Also spoken to the supplier recently there line is currently both GROM units do not support our HU , so go figure

Thanks for the feedback guys, it's a shame I can't rename the title of this post. I see that there are some issues of compatibility with the GROM-IPD3 and the GROM-USB2+. Are these issues only with a few users? Which route should I take in regards to purchasing a unit? I don't have steering wheel control on my vehicle. Apologies for all the questions but have only had my car for the last 2 weeks...
Thanks!
