If you're not getting Brembos, I reckon just get better pads and rotors. I just picked up project mu pads as they're giving away the rear set at no extra cost in Japan. Here in Australia, they're only giving 25% off. You'd only need Type-NS pads for street and can be paired with DBA T2s, or the like. If you track occasionally, consider the B-Spec ones, but you will DBA need T3s (or the like).

What's your budget?

A proper Brembo set up with good rotors and pads will cost you around $3K. This includes braided lines, handbrake shoes, adaptor brackets etc etc.

As people have said above, the GT/H6 brakes are good for what they are, when coupled with good pads, fluid and braided lines.

No need for handbrake shoes if you get dba rotors; they make a rear rotor that is brembo size but with 170 mm handbrake shoe 8)
Of course, it is a lot more than a stock STi rotor...

Only problem with the conversion rotors is that you are stuck with the one brand. Usually cheaper to get the 190mm handbrake shoes made up if you're buying a s/h kit which includes rotors.
