Postby legacydan » Tue Nov 26, 2013 11:19 pm

So i dont think there is really any gains of my fmic at the moment with the vf36 so im thinking of switching from my TurboXs FMIC to some tmic. Does anybody know what aftermarket tmic i could make work with vf36 twincsroll turbo?

Just use jdm Sti TMIC - will fit perfectly and do the job

Best to state what intake mani & TB combo you have.
Afaik the legacy plastic mani has an offset to passenger side inlet.
The Sti alloy mani (with cable throttle?) has a central inlet.

I'm sure someone here knows the complete rundown :)

Didnt you swap to a jdm ej207 twin scroll Dan?

If you're still running liberty /legacy plastic mani then yes the Sti TMIC won't fit unless you swap inlet manifolds (but retain your legacy throttle body).

Or you could make a custom silicon hose join from Sti TMIC to legacy tb

Otherwise just get an aftermarket TMIC to suit legacy

No i have a vf36 but still on rebuilt ej20Y engine. still on the plastic mani. If i can get a sti tmic cheap ill mess around and see can i make one work. Supposedly a grimmspeed one coming out that will fit a legacy and Impreza sti style turbos. I thinking of a bigger turbo now anyway so i might keep the FMIC, this is the never ending project the way i keep chopping and changing my plans!
