STi Grille badge

Postby PRO20B » Thu Jun 26, 2008 10:40 am

Hi guys,

Just wondering how i can achieve the look below?

Image

I bought the STi grille badge that is on a MY08 WRX STi, but that doesn't work.

Do i need to get the STi grille badge that just sticks onto the grille (3M tape)?

Any help would be great.

Cheers
Daniel

gotta love 3m double sided tape..... you would not believe what i have seen this stuff used for and it works.

they sell one thats recommended for outdoor use, but the only down side its thick and grey in colour, but it works a treat.

or you could go 1 step better and use a 2 part epoxy glue, this will give you a better finish and can't be pulled off.

btw does the back of the badge match the front surface of the grill?
i mean is the grill slightly curved in any way?
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

I considered doing this and even have the badge but decided in the end not too. Too many sti badges on it already imo..3m tape or epoxy cement if your going to do it.

what i did with my (2L) subaru badge is to aryldite a bolt (head end obviously) onto the back of the badge itself. i chose one that would only just fit through the hole of my mesh so that it would only take a washer and nut onto the back to keep it firmly in place ensuring no plate was needed. I used a shortish bolt with a triangleyish (i think it's called counter sunk?) head so that there was no issues getting the badge to sit flush with the mesh. i did it this way so that removal would be easy.
If anyone is interested enough i will pull it off and take some schnapps.
