iOS7 + GROM Issues

Hi all,

I have recently updated my phone from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5S and therefore a new OS.

Since I've got the new phone I cannot get it to connect the GROM unit in my Lib.

Wondering if anyone else has has this problem?

Any help is appreciated?

It's ios7. I'm having the same problems when connecting it to my dad's Forester.

Use to work fine, now its a temperamental bitch.

I had to 'unpair' my old phone before I could connect with my new one recently. This may work for you?

That's ok, they've added some extra functionality though so it might be worth it.

Really? Damn! minor issue is that I sold it to some lady in another state

I just got an email reply from the guys at Cushie Audio,


"Hi Mitch,

Thanks for contacting us.

iOS7 works perfectly with all GROM products. I suspect because you changed phone you need to re-pair your bluetooth, the problem is however you have used up the available BT slots. So you need to reset the GROM BT module. See the following link and read the troubleshooting section: http://www.cushieaudio.com.au/grom-i3/bluetooth/

Try the reset option in the above link and let us know if you have any further issues but that should do the trick.

so, I did and this is how to fix it.

"The GROM unit can only support 2 paired devices. Multiple attempts to pair may cause issues. It must be reset.


Please reset BTD unit:
1. Switch off GROM mode (go to FM for example).
2. Wait for 3-4 seconds.
3. Switch to GROM mode and after 1 second press SCAN, MIX or RPT button.
4. You will hear low beep confirming the reset.

I've dropped mine from about 1.5 meters dozens of times on iOS6 so the phones have had this feature for a long time.

You should try the waterproof test.
It's a really great feature. Done it heaps of times.

So, I tried the fix, but to no avail...

Was told that it might be my firmware

I've just read that BT reset was added in version 5 on the 23rd of February 12.

Even thought I bought mine after this date it may not have the Bluetooth reset feature added,

Going to try and update the firmware tonight if I can rustle up a Micro SD card..
