08 3RB power distribution?

I'm

in the market for a new car and the Audi is high on my list and after a spirited test drive I felt the Audi all wheel drive felt totally different to the 3RB

Question what is the power distribution on the Liberty ?
is it 60% front 40% rear? also what is the power distribution on the VW R32?
The Liberty has served me well but a change in job positions has put me in a situation that I must up grade
Any other subjections on a similar size all wheel drive as I will never go back to a conventional front or rear wheel drive

Loz, I'm also currently looking and finding myself in a similar situation.

I had the chance to drive a 3.0R and it was very smooth, power delivery was constant throughout the rev range. As for power delivery through the wheels, not to sure, but it felt like a 50/50????

I keep on looking back at the tech sheet for torque output and wanting it to compare to the GT. A little lower on the torque, but I dunno if I can tell the difference.

Is there any reason with the 3.0R that you wouldn't go back to one or is it just the change of jobs?

I think it might also have to do with the quattro system's Torsen LSDs that help.

AFAIK the Liberty has open diffs?? as by my experience here...

I would up grade to another Liberty if their was a up grade. :lol:

I was lucky in the past to purchase 2 cars instead of one company car but the tax man has the shi ts with me so !! the Liberty is 2 years old so its the one that must go the R32 is but a 8000k baby and I would take too big a hit to sell it and my wife would cut my nuts out as she has claimed it as private property LOL
A 3.6 STI turbo is on my wish list

Passat R36 shits all over any Subaru for value. Same AWD system as the R32, which you can easily change the front/rear bias via a software upgrade.

Audi, does have many aftermarket controller you can get.

The manual is 50:50. The auto is a bit different, I'm not sure of the exact figures.

The spec sheet says:
Manual: Active Torque Split System
Auto: Centre differential gear coupled with viscous LSD

I think the Liberty is 60/40 rear to front or simply rear wheel biased.

Well I just got off the phone to Subaru and guess what :?:

I was told the 3RB auto was 90/10 WTF??
could this be right ??

Based on my thread I started (see my earlier post) it could very well be true, and that it apportions power to the rear wheels when it needs it.

speaking from driving a gt spec tb sti auto...... i think the rear has most of the power, when you give it a little i notice the back plants down, similar to the way my ss use to launch..... or is that just vcd doing its work?

i don't think there would be much difference between the gt and 3.0 in spec b

Even my partner's Astra SRI (FWD) does the same!

The back "plants down" when you accelerate because of the weight is transfered to the rear . FWD cars loose traction when you accelerate from standing because of weight distribution. That's why if similar powered cars (and weight) with different drives (FWD VS RWD), a RWD will always beat a FWD because it is not easy to loose traction like a FWD. It has nothing to do with VCD

Now I have been told by my local Audi experts that the 3.2 quattro is 50/50 split 60/40 or could be 40/60 and when I asked for another opinion I got this answer from the village idiot 25/25/25/25 PMSL
I asked if I could fit a tow bar and coped this answer its imposible t tow with a quattro or you may tow 1000kg and once again from the village idiot how long is the boat you want to tow :roll:
