Brake pad recommendations

Postby marckhor » Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:58 pm

Hi Today is really not my day :( :
1) Had a flat tyre at the right left
2) Engine and Cruise Light lit while driving
3) Noticed that the front Brake Pads are looking rather thin after 50,000kms. I had free pads at 30000km due to faulty brakes
4) ASX is down......again

Can you recommend any good brake pads that can increase the stopping performance. I always find my 04 Lib GT to have spongy brakes.

Found my GT was the same.

I landed up changing the front rotors with DBA 4000's & I sadly bought MRT brand front pads.

All in all the stopping performance & break feel was improved dramatically & it was a good upgrade.

After talking to several people & more research, I'd probably go with a Jap brand set of rotors (Cheaper with the same if not better performance). The MRT pads do the job & I have found them to be better then stock, but they do create a fair bit of dust.

I'm personally going to try out the STI brake pads when I'm due for a change.

Nextmod,

Thanks. I should be able to get a better assessment of the brakes when I bring my car in to fix the CEL and Cruise flashing light. Will contact you then.
