I have so many little and big projects lined up for the Lib I lose track...
However this chirpy critter just demanded my attention!
Its the rear accessory v-belt idler pulley.
happy about that because I had thought it was the AC comp on its way out, however letting the once-intermittent noise get worse and testing the various pulleys by touching their bolts with the end of a giant screw driver, revealed the culprit. (thanks for the "tip", Brandon!) Rifling through the WSM didnt reveal a part number, but Google did. I could have ordered online, eBay, anywhere but went to
Makin and Luby and settled for genuine full retail, instant gratification.
That is something of a cop-out, the real enthusiast will find a metal idler pulley from an older model and use that, or press new bearings into a metal pulley.
Anyhow, about 15 minutes on the ratchets and all is well again.
Next up is getting my front driveshafts reco-ed/re-packed/re-booted at
A1 Driveshafts just around the corner from me.
The inner boots split, so I'm looking into wrapping my dump pipe to mitigate the heat transfer to the driver side boot.
I bought the
Company23 subaru driveshaft rollpin punch from
Tuspeed, taking advantage of Adam's considerable generosity to also score
AVO caster adding offset LCA bushes, currently getting pressed in at
Little Sam's Garage, also in Collingwood. Then I'll be ready for my 5000K checkup at
TruTrack in North Melbourne.
Keep an eye on my sig/GB's forum as I'm cooking up another sweet deal for those who like to lavish the utmost on their rides
