2.5T scoop (?) water build up

Postby chris12 » Tue Oct 22, 2013 12:37 pm

Hi guys,

I've looked at a Liberty I'm thinking of buying a couple of times and each time I've opened the bonnet it (days apart) water has rushed out of it. More specifically, at the front top hand side (when the bonnet opens) just next to a rubber strip which spans the with of the front of the bonnet.

I'm just wondering how normal this is? Any concern? I'm not sure whether the scoop area has a special place for the water to drain away.

Maybe they washed it just before you inspected?

Water entering the scoop probably wouldn't make it to the front of the bonnet.

Yep, they said they did. So, I just thought that was fine, it'd be because they washed the engine bay or something.

I then went back again today and had a look. It has been raining in Melbourne today and again water came out of that particular hole at the front of the bonnet.

I notice water build up gush out also but seems like it's from the black under bonnet insulation tray as opposed to the scoop or bonnet bracing.
