alexeiwoody wrote:I wouldn't worry too much Adam. Your car is tuned for mid range torque, driveability and longevity and not for 0-100 times. People who've modified daily driven cars will appreciate that statement.

Even so - with an MSR tune and VF52... you should be able to beat any lib that has just a tune in a 0-100 anyway...doesn't matter what/who's tune. The most a stock car gets from a tune is maybe 20kw+, while you have over 60kw+. That's 40kw diffence on a good day. One of you guys has a broken timer

I already retuned a dyno tuned VF46 Lib that now has more torque on 3psi less peak boost, better driveability due to not having a twitchy/sensitve throttle table designed to feel impressive/responsive, gets better fuel economy on highway(by more than 4L/100km) and thankfully, no longer has the DBW Accelerator pedal taken from one of MY 06 Forester tunes which the tuner was using in an 07 Liberty... same DBW Accelerator map of mine as others I retuned while I was in Sydney/Newcastle during last few weeks. Quite a few of the dyno tunes even had IAM change disabled due to the values used in Rough and Fine correction.
These retunes have their own Tactrix and have logged the difference in acceleration times, quite a few don't have per gear boost control either so no advantage there ;)

Transmission slip won't ever get a good time for acceleration, ask the LegacyGT forum guys how tranny slip affects 0-100 times :)

Ok so I guess I need to try my car on the same road you are talking about just in case the road I used wasn't quite flat.
Either way I hope my car with more power than a simply tuned car could do a better time.
According to my obdII scanner my car gets 19psi in 2nd. So I guess it must be wrong.

P.s. how do I know if my gearbox is slipping?

Thanks Matt!
ill give it a whirl. Approx what revs should i change gears at? Im sure i took it past its most efficient rev range. I think i saw the revs hit 7000rpm from 2nd to 3rd.

We had it in Drive, no sports shift and let it change itself. No stall up either :) Bigger turbo will benefit from stall up though.

Yes, your probably getting 19psi in 2nd gear but at what rpm? same rpm as 3rd gear?

Jesus! This keeps getting worse for me. You didnt even stall it up!?! I stalled mine up to get that time!!

Not sure what rpm it gets 19psi. I know it would be higher than 3rd gear but not surewhere.

Not meaning to start a sh1t fight Mik, but all the tuned (whether TH tuned or not) TD04 Foresters I've seen are far from being capable of doing 0-100 in the 4 secs bracket... even on E85. If that were the case, I'd gladly put my TD04 back in and sell my VF52 and pocket some extra $$$ :D

Seen any of my SH9 TD04 stuff from the last 6 months? Wonder why Furto with A/T muddies can get a 5 albeit with a DP

I can think of 3 SH9's near you that are stock with a tune doing 4's and the interesting part is that another one is an FB25 NA auto doing a mid 5. So if an NA FB25 pulled away from you at the lights...
It might explain why Legato's new S Edition tune goes so much better too ;)

Imagine 19psi in 1st gear by 4000rpm.

VF46 has 16psi in first on a stock car by 3000rpm, why bother stalling when it comes on that quick once the TC unlocks.

Lol ok... If that were the true, Looking forward to seeing some 12 sec TD04 Foresters then.

To clarify - the one I'm referring to is a vf46 4 speed auto sh9

4.8 0-100 - stock with dump pipe

Just out of curiousity I googled what other cars did a 0-100 in 4.8 seconds.

I must admit I'd prefer any of them above the Foz.

How did someone get a N/A auto forester from a 10 second 0-100 to 5 seconds?

Just a few questions to help me understand how this works:

- Are these cars running normal road tyres?
- Have they had weight stripped out of them like seats and spare tyres?
- Do they have normal tunes or tunes especially for 0-100 times?

I dont know foresters very well, but isnt their turbo smaller than a VF46? IF thats so, these cars are getting better times with a smaller turbo and just a tune than my car with almost 200wkw.

Whats different about your tunes matt? My car with VF46, TBE, Inlet and tune was noticably slower than my car now with the VF52.
