Turbo to Intercooler bend size needed

Postby JMlegacy » Mon Oct 14, 2013 3:03 am

I'm looking to replace the bend that connects the turbo to our intercooler.
It's item #3 in the diagram below Image

I want to know the diameter (inside) of the intercooler side and the reduced side at the turbo.
I plan on making a custom replacement

Inside diameters for both:-

Intercooler side - 70mm
Turbo side - 43mm

I directly measured the plastic elbow with a ruler.

You can get one in blue, black or red from AVO Japan. (link below)

I'm actually planning to make that very part. Save myself some $

I'm hearing you.
I thought about doing the same thing, but it worked out to be just over $130 delivered and the lazy side of me took over and I ordered it. :D
One thing definitely worth doing if you get one of these or for the part you manufacture, is machining an o-ring groove in the sealing face as the gasket AVO supply is pretty ordinary.
After doing this o-ring mod to mine, I've never had a drama with it.

Cheers,
Rusty.
