just fitted a Perrin TMIC 2 weeks ago... no fitment issues at all. even with the tower brace.

not that we have had multiple hot days to compare but seems very worth while investment.

Thats good to hear Frank. Maybe Perrin have addressed issues from the past with the new batch? Can you tell us what the kit came with when you bought the Perrin?

Perrin has issues fitting on a Forester, LGT is no issue

However, I would be waiting for the Grimspeed TMIC ;)

kit came with all bolts needed to replace stock ones & washers, clearly it came with the cooler... but the top of the line stuff was the NUMBER PLATE surrounds!
straight in the bin they went....

Yeah I think I'll stick with tmic for now, not chasing big numbers yet plus it's less hassle with insurance and the fuzz

Science says front mount is better. The rest is really opinion, and whatever is you preference is the way you should go.

Dyno figures aren't really relevant in relation to which is better for a daily driver, unless maybe if you drive around in traffic for an hour an then go straight on the dyno.

Getting the air as cool as possible is good for the safety of your engine, not just beloved power figures and a front mount will be better for keeping your air cooler.

My plan is to go black painted front mount and a bonnet with no scoop. In theory I should get even less attention from the fuzz than a stock GT with a bonnet scoop.

If you have other mods, a front mount shouldn't make much difference to insurance if you are with a decent insurer. An after market top mount is just as much a mod as a front mount. Especially if you keep the crash bar with the front mount, as people have been able to do with the smaller front mounts.

I'd be setting up a sprayer system with a hobbs pressure switch...

Another factor that has put me off front mounts is a lot of motorsport events class cars on modifications and a big one is having the intercooler in the standard location. I don't think I'd have much luck against 300kW cars with full slicks in the faster classes :P

Good result but a fair but of diff between 98 and e85

I have the Process West. The only trouble with fitment is that some strut braces (such as my Cusco one) wont fit with it. The stock STI strut brace does. The engine cover needs to be trimmed by cutting strait accross along the line where the bottom of the stock intercooler is. So your only cutting the very top of it off around where the hole for the stock intercooler is anyway. Still looks good.
