Process west tmic

Hey guys, am wondering if anyone has installed a process west tmic and kept/trimmed the engine cover, is it possible? Or is running one an automatic 'delete' of the engine cover?

Cutting the engine cover in half is as good as you will get.

Small Front Mount = WIN
Gen4 Engine bay is about as easy as you'll get for piping
And there's heaps of room behind the front bar for a stealth install

Is there a big cost difference between an off the shelf TMIC compared to a FMIC kit? I realize the power advantages are greater, but is the cost negligible or significantly more?

well when you compare the cost of a PW item vs a good generic FMIC Core and some suitable piping (would need to be custom)
they are probably very similar.
But for the performance benfits of the FMIC, I know where my cash would go.

That seems to be the consensus here. FMIC is what everyone is wanting and doing for added benefits in big power. If I were to go a TMIC I'd go maybe a Perrin one or similar as the PW ones are pricey ($850 vs $1100). But it all depends on the amount of power you wanting to push out. Correct me if Im wrong but I reckon anything under 200kwatw a decent after market TMIC will be fine. If you want more a properly setup FMIC system is the way to go.

also really depends on vehicle use.
for a car that spends a lot of time stationary or at low speed before needing power in a hurry, then an FMIC just wins, due to much less heat-soak.
i.e Motorkhana, drags, hillclimb, traffic light warrior. All uses where the TMIC will heat-soak badly and affect off the line performance

i had put an order in with prospeedracing.com.au for a perrin TMIC but he replied that they no longer supply them due to fitment issues which is why i was now looking at PW

going by a lot of the online reviews. The PW is fairly good value for money considering you not only get the IC, but all the silicone pipes, brackets and the shroud as part of the kit. I would consider this most definitely if you are still keen on maintaining an TMIC setup. Plus I hear the PW unit has no issues with fitment.
