Another couple of systems about to roll out the door to customers!

H6 boosting. No new updates, although some customer are selecting the billet compressor wheel option - more pressure sooner in the RPM band

Launched a new test model of the Raptor V today. The Raptor VLBRC - contains billet comp wheel and new higher speed transmission innovation

We started it off on a VS V6 Commodore @ 15psi - its an every day driver. Next week the pressure will be increased to 16psi for the remainder of the test. 1 BAR happening now! If this innovation does all the right things it can be slid into the Subaru H6 program for those who have a record to set

And what is this transmission innovation? Is it retrofitable to older model sc units?

If the innovation proves good ........ yes with a change of a couple of parts it can go right into an existing V or VL series charger trans body

There is some talk locally of a twin screw arrangement, we have a spare twin screw laying around presently Will be less top end power than a centrifugal system but huge low and mid power

With E85 you can do almost anything and 260atw with correct setup on stock internals would fit into the doable scenario I believe

Anyone with the coins to go a twin screw?? We can do it

@ Tim

Hope you don't mind my ressurecting this post from Dec '12. But in the brief interlude while we wait for updates on the H6 headers, CAI, and SC tranny...could you please comment a bit more on this twin scroll set up? What is it, how does it work, etc? :D

Sub

No problem

The charger itself is a twin screw (lysholm) type of the Kenne Bell brand - for instance. Check out their charger units for a full explanation of how they function

They deliver high boost pressures at low engine speeds and pull very well too through rest of range. Bit like having a high rev Diesel engine so far as torque you would experience. You got money I can make it

This offer remains until September 30 - 2013.

This one is coming to an end - with just a few days left

The response has been fantastic - the evidence of that will trickle in over time.

In the future I will be loaning out the Tactrix to those in Australia who buy an SC kit - will be something you can loan from Raptor for a couple of weeks to get you up and going - saves you some $$ not having to buy one

UPDATE ON THIS NEW PRODUCT (as posted on another forum)

With 16pcs of the billet wheel in the hands of customers its time to tell the known facts

PRO

The impeller is delivering much crisper low end response, for Ford BA owners they say its a significant improvement and amazing now for this type of charger. Same on our old VS Commodore, it gets going much better and more pull everywhere, all the way to peak rpm. Everyone has continued using their existing tunes and everything runs to their fullest expectations. It is serving in circuit race cars and road cars of many brands so far and already in 4 countries.

CON

The impeller does whistle more than the cast item, we have confirmed it is NOT belt whine but whistle from the extended tips on the impeller. Every customer has said the whistle (which is audible but not offensive at all) is well worth it for the performance increase experienced. An extremely noise conscious customer most likely would not appreciate it. My personal take it - its an amazing sound and like a large turbo steadily spooling up, its very cool. 2 customers reported a LOT of neck swiveling by people who notice car things (bloke in Repco shop nearly broke his neck as a customer went past), we also saw this happen recently here in Mackay - as i said its a very cool sound and this happens around the 1500rpm mark, at fairly low speeds.

That's the deal on it as I know it. From an assembly and looks point of view its the coolest thing going on in centrifugal superchargers made in Australia at this time

You cant go wrong choosing it for extra performance and extended powerband - the customers absolutely feel the difference, no wondering if something maybe improved

The billet piece comes as a complete group balanced high speed assembly - see photo attached to this post

The impeller and high speed group in your charger at this moment is credited against the new billet piece. I normally check the wear on a customers charger and then give final correct price. This normally leaves a balance in the $550 - $710 range.

Update on RaceChange belt system

There are approx 10 vehicles running this innovation + 1 drag car (Ford Falcon V8)

We have been running it since late July and deliberately oversped the charger to see if it can be made to fail. So far no sign of problem.

The drag car ran 4hrs continuos (driver screening for beat the heat program) drag racing at the local NQ track in the hands of 10+ police drivers 2 Sundays ago - I added the RaceChange to the charger just the day before event. No issues at all.

Noise wise, it's possibly slightly less than a standard Raptor VL.

Durability - unknown long term, short term has been excellent even when set up to be over stressed

Here is a picture of the transmission body for a RaceChange equipped Supercharger

The engineering features you would find on a complete RaceChange equipped charger are as follows

1. Anodised body - critical for Race teams to make a fast/sure removal and replacement of front cover. The anodising prevents bearing/s galling in housing recesses at reassembly

2. Additional hole in back plate for cleaning components that no longer need to be removed for belt installation

3. The dual belt drive and matching pulley system - No pics, secret squirrel on this part

Tim,
maybe you can give us a sound impression of the difference between these two designs?
Maybe an option for me for the next sc service in far future ;).
Is the dual belt system an option to enlarge the service intervall?
