I'm not a fan of Rotas.

I would say guard rolling is lass hassle than running improperly fitting tyres.

What is the hard part about guard rolling?

Paint cracking on the fold, happened on my last car. plus its expensive and as i said i prefer a bit of stretch.

I'd prefer replacing a $300 ROTA than an $800 ADVAN since they both do the exact same job and look the same (besides the ADVAN engraving). Unless that engraving has aerodynamic advantages, in that case i'd happily fork out an extra $500 per rim.

Additional strength through more refined engineering and production process is what you are paying for.

When I see some original styled Rotas that are fully forged, I'll be interested, till then....yawn.

Paint cracking meant it wasnt done properly.

Im due for tyres and have been looking at going 225 or 235 but its a tricky one to me. 225/40 means ill change the rolling diameter and throw the speedo even further out.. and 225/45 will increase the wall size and look average. It would all be so much easier if it was easy to correct speedos.

Considering my last set of rims on my old car were ADVAN's... these to be exact http://www.advanwheels.com.au/wheels/wheel.aspx?id=21 and they still bent when i hit a curb at Sandown raceway i decided to give ROTA's a chance.

Exactly. They bent instead of shattering like a Rota would.

Standard rims are only 7inch.

Yeah I know the advans... not really necessary for my sort of driving. I dont track it or get a chance to corner hard much in sydney. I think ill stick with potenzas... might try pzeros???
