Morbo: I'm just down the road from you in Collingwood if you need assistance with logging etc :)

Hey Matt, I'm installing an AVO TB hose soonish, what happens with this gasket?

Remove, reinstall or replace with stock?

Thanks Ben, I might take you up on that once I get everything installed. We can have a Ben party.

Ill bet you'll find a stock inlet for sale here if you ask...
Aftermarket may require a tune, which might be best left till the lib is 100% :)

I've already ordered it so I'll have to hope it solves the immediate problem and then I can get a tune.

Also if anyone is interested the stock turbo inlet pipe is $246.81 inc gst, they don't have any in Aus and it'll take them 3 weeks to get one from Japan, so I'm about to hit the Checkout button on the Pro Speed Racing website.

Matt I'll send you a PM because it's looking pretty likely I'll have to cancel the tune, unless the new inlet pipe magically teleports into my engine bay, or I can convince a mate to spend a few hours in the dark with me to install the new pipe. That's even if it arrives in time.

Thanks,
Ben

Order the Tomioka Racing TMIC Throttle body hose so you don't need the gasket. Silicon hose replaces the rubber pipe and gasket

WOOT! Good news...

So the TR and AVO TMIC TB hoses are both recommended replacements... PHEW.

Is there any preference between the TR and AVO hoses? So far I've only found the TR on eBay in the US, or according to the TR website Pro Speed Racing are their local distributor but they won't have them for another two weeks.

Is EMK05C01 from http://www.avoturbo.com/avoshop/silicone-throttle-body-hose-p-856.html the right AVO one?

Clearly I don't know how to navigate their website and my Google skills are sub par. Thanks Ben.

All I know is that those 2 choices have the least fitment issues.
I'd also check id vendor Kobe has these as their silicone is nice n thick :)

From everything I've read, swear a lot. And maybe cry a little.
I'm going to ask a mechanically minded mate of mine to give me a hand. I've got a pdf of the install instructions for the AVO inlet hose so I'll base it off that. And I'll use rubbing alcohol as lube to get the inlet onto the turbo (since I have some at home and that's what i've been seeing to do).

Not sure about the crank case breather hose as the AVO instructions show that theirs comes with one (or an extension). My PSR one didn't come with any extra hoses and no instructions.

Also I'm sure I read somewhere on here saying to remove the inlet manifold and it makes it much easier. Not sure if that's necessary or not but then maybe I'll need some replacement gaskets in case I damage them.

I'm planning the same thing, clean out TMIC, install AOS, silicone inlet & TB hoses etc...
Happy to assist or do it in parallel... or just offer moral support ;)

Apparently hairspray is a good thing to firstly ease on then help seal the silicone hoses.
