You just need a second set of brembos to go with them now. The gold doesn't really go.

Jesus they're luminous!

Can't work out whether i like them, maybe they'd look good in a mid corner shot on the track...

Silver hides the dirt so well ;)

Hahaha I'm liking them the more I see the car with them... Didn't take long for someone to spot me either :P
This is what they look like in the sun, in the shade it's more of your normal Kawasaki green colour, the white base was a good choice :)

If it happened to be lower with silver Brembo's. Then and only then do you win.

My mod list is actually getting quite long now... Sadly lots of small stuff still...

Installed a vent boost gauge which is great! Next is an AFR sensor to hook up to it :)

Got a few track events coming up so will be spending money on maintenance rather than mods for a while :(

Been a while since an update, sadly this will probably be the last biggish update this car will see.

A few things have changed recently.

Did the conversion to E85, as simple as a fuel pump and ID1000 injectors both of which I installed myself. COBB 3 port boost control solenoid was also installed. Matt came down for a dyno tune and the results are amazing 190kW peak power (on a harsh dyno). But the car is completely different to drive now. So much more power, so much sooner. The stock turbo actually gives you a nice thud in the back as it spools up very quickly and takes off. The car is noticeably quicker, took me a while to get used to shifting again as it simply revs through the gears faster now so my timing to change gears was off for a while until I got used to it.

Flat foot shifting and launch control have both been added to the tune. Both work brilliantly, very consistent launching and once you get used to flat foot shifting it's so much faster and surprisingly smoother than a regular (slower) shift. It actually feels like less strain on the drive line even though the car's accelerating faster.

I also had the diff and gearbox oils replaced. Shifting improved greatly, indicating it was probably overdue at 80,000km... But everything is working quite well now.

Sadly the car has gotten to the point where I feel it is now overpowered slightly. I need to spend some more substantial money on a front LSD and a better centre LSD as I found both failing me at the hillclimb, with one front wheel spinning up and quite a delay before the power was picked up by the centre diff and sent to the rear. Obviously coilovers (and a front sway bar) would also help get the power to the ground better but this is also a costly path and I currently love the balance of the car.

Here's a video of one of my fastest runs at Collingrove, 37.06 which was 1.2 seconds faster than my previous best. All that had changed was the E85 conversion and FFS + LC in the tune. Similar weather conditions, although slightly different tyres (bother good street rubber). This new PB is over 3 seconds better than what I could manage when my car was stock. Which I feel shows just how far the car has come, although my driving has improved, being able to control the car with the better tune has been the biggest improvement, followed closely by the extra power.

While the car still has potential for more power (I've still got the stock mufflers, TMIC and all intake piping). I'm happy with everything on the car as is now, I've decided not to sacrifice anything with this car (leaving my wallet the loser) and with the mufflers being the main limitation for power now, I'm not going to change these for something else as the sound and noise level is perfect as is in my opinion.

So this car will become my regular driver (with occasional track events). Although I'll still probably buy another daily for the bus stop... And I have plans to buy a skyline, turning that into my primary track car...

But I do have a few minor mods still going on to 'complete' the car, with a COBB short shifter on its way :D
