Hi from a Melbourne noob!

Hi all,
My name is Daniel and I hail from Sunny ole Melbourne...., err wait start again. :) I am in the market for a car, and have been giving quite a bit of thought to what to buy. My family have had a variety of cars but mostly Fords and Subarus. I was considering an FG G6ET, and 270kws standard sure is appealing, but I really like the AWD and the balance of the Subarus. At this stage I am thinking of a GT somewhere between 04 & 08, and then modding it properly. I have read a few of the threads here and there is some great info out there. Thanks to all the contributors. I look forward to chatting to/meeting you all. :)

Welcome.

Sorry I'm not familiar with how much FG G6ETs are worth, what is your price range?
Because there are quite a lot of differences between the two 04-06 (Pre-facelift Gen4) and 07-09(Facelift Gen4).

Hi Chaotic,

I am still determining my price range but at this stage I was thinking somewhere between 25 and 30k for car and mods. My research so far seems to indicate that I can get a 04-05 GT for 10-12k fairly comfortably, whereas an 07-08 seems to be in the 17-20k range. The extra 7k would certainly give me a lot more room for mods, but I also notice that the 07+ have a 2.5L instead of a 2.0L, and I am wondering what difference that will give me performance wise (after modifications). Anyway, I will do some more research on the threads here, there seems to be a lot of good info.

Daniel :)

Hi guys,

Thanks for the posts. There sure is a ton of information here. You guys have done an amazing job on that front! Thanks for the invite Bass. I will post on the thread. 99% chance of attendance at this stage. Is just one little thing I need to take care of, and move/postpone a prior commitment. The meet sounds like a ton of fun, I look forward to it.

Daniel :D
