Yeah works well, doesn't get in the way or rattle so I can just keep in in the car permanently
Out at Tailem Bend this Sunday. I couldn't get my other track wheels finished in time so I'll be out on some slippery tyres that I'm happy to shred up, should be lots of fun!
New wheels, tyres and lug nuts. A HUGE thanks to Mark (cruisn) for all the organisation of these wheels. 18x8" +48 JDM Enkeis, the difference between the stock wheels and these is quite substantial, they fill the guards very nicely.
They're wrapped in 235/40/R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE002 tyres, really wish I could've gone for a 245 width tyre but it was getting close to $100 a tyre extra for that
Please excuse the dirt and lack of tyre shine!
I also bought a new set of RE002s for my 17" track rims in 235/45/R17. Plus I'm still sorting out colour and paint for the stock tbSTi wheels and have tyres ready to go on them which I'm looking forward to shredding.
Now I have to stop spending money on this car for a while. The gen 2 still has a few things that need attention sooner rather than later
Not much has changed. Bought some track dedicated pads for Mallala and updated the software on my CarPC to run Windows 8.
Spent a bit of time cleaning up the paintwork, lots of small tar spots and bits and pieces that hadn't been cleaned properly, ever (underside of the side skirts and stuff). Took a few bits and pieces off to do it all thoroughly
Here's how the paint's looking now, needs a light polish which I'll do when I finish the blue car.
I also put the track wheels on for a hill climb so got Hamish to opticoat the JDM Enkeis while they're off. My stock wheels will be painted for track use in the next week or two
I won't be doing anything more power wise to the car for a while. I still feel I'm the most limiting factor in the car's performance so will be spending my money on track events and courses to improve
Here's a video of the car at the hill climb, it was wet and I was really struggling to get a decent/consistent launch, but great fun nevertheless.
